ADMISSION TO THE PHD PROGRAMME FOR THE AUTUMN SEMESTER : 2011-2012
Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. Programme of the Institute in all disciplines of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences, Law and Management. Admission to reserved-category candidates will be done as per Government of India notification. Applicants are required to apply online. Application fee is Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST). Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees. Applicants are advised to visit to concerned Department Webpage for more details about research areas and faculty . They must also read Ph.D. Regulations of the institute for ELIGIBILITY and other details . INSTRUCTIONS TO FILL IN ONLINE APPLICATION FORM STEP-I : Make PAYMENT In order to fill in the online application, payment of application fee has to be made apriori. The payments are made through Demand Draft only. Demand drafts of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250 for SC/ST category) should be made in favour of "IIT Kharagpur" on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur. STEP-II : Fill in the ONLINE application form Register with Your Email Id and Login. FILL in the appropriate data. You will have to FILL in the payment details also. Therefore, it is essential that before you fill in the online application form make sure that you have the Demand Draft as mentioned above. You must enter the Demand Draft number and the Bank name for the payment details. You have to upload your digital photograph and signature. Please make sure that you have your passport size digital photograph and digital image of your signature ready before submitting online. STEP-III : PRINT the online application form After freezing the online application, you will be able to generate a PDF document of the online application with your specific details/data. For this your computer must have Adobe Acrobat Reader. From the onscreen view of the PDF document that your browser projects, you must PRINT the generated PDF online application form. STEP-IV : POST Place the Demand Draft, printed online application form with supporting documents in an envelope and send it to ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (PGS&R),IIT KHARAGPUR,KHARAGPUR - 721302(W.B.).
POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP (PDF) Candidates aged 35 years or less having a Ph.D. Degree and willing to carry out advanced research in the fields of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences and Law (Intellectual Property Rights, Corporate Law, Environment Law and Management) should apply to the Assistant Registrar (PGS&R), IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur-721 302 (W.B.) on plain paper with complete bio-data, list of publications, patents filed/granted, plan of research work, and recommendations of at least two referees, etc., enclosing fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates) by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of "IIT Kharagpur" on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur latest by April 25, 2011. Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees.Note: Candidates sending application for PDF using downloadable form from the Institute Website must enclose the application fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates) by a Demand Draft (non-refundable) drawn in favour of "IIT Kharagpur" on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur Download the Application Form
