STRUCTURE OF POSTAL GUIDANCE COURSE

Structure of University Publication’s Postal Guidance Course is based on most scientifically designed study pattern. The Postal Guidance Cell has developed key study area. The Cell has a panel of experts, whose primary task is to exposes the students to carefully chosen sets of questions through a series of booklets, spread over a suitable time-frame. The topics covered are gently introduced, where a student moves up to advanced levels through ladders of problems set in an increased order of difficulty/complexity. We then motivate the students to solve the challenging questions on their own with various degree of support from our end through Solutions - the ultimate one being - to provide the actual solution to difficult problems. The student's self-assessment of the Test Series makes them a skilled player in the most effective way.

The education plan is spread over a definite time span and accordingly the study material is sent to the students at regular intervals. The students are asked to complete the assignments within the given time-frame. Thereafter they are taken to the next topics.

Apart from providing effective postal guidance with particular attention to JEE/AIEEE with clear cut
demarcation lines, we provide timely guidance to the students regarding how, when and whom to approach for these openings. We also advise our students on the text books, what should be studied by them with a view to covering the syllabi concerned.
STUDY PLAN

The Postal Guidance Course teaches students the choicest text from the point of view of JEE/AIEEE. The programme includes questions and answers, a detailed review of each section of the course, practice exercises, different Interim Test Series and Final Test Series similar to actual entrance examinations conducted in past and expected to be followed this year. The Interim Test Series sharpen the skill, increase speed and improve scoring ability of the students. The Final Test Series will offer a real-time experience of the actual Entrance Examinations.

Analysis shows that students fail to recognise the importance of a well-planned examination strategy even in their second attempt. A booklet titled “51 Basic Tips on How to Prepare for Competitive Exams”, provided with the Course, helps students to evolve their own study plan, and review their relevant educational skills that they have developed through their earlier studies. The "51 Basic Tips" not only help you train yourself in effective self-learning, but also polish your personality and life-style.

STUDY MATERIAL

The subjects involved in JEE and AIEEE are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject is rigorously treated according to the latest syllabus. Every attempt has been made to treat all topics involved a particular subject in a thorough yet simple and concise manner. The entire study material is divided into 4-volume, 4-supplement volume and Test Series. The details are hereunder for your reference :

Volumes

The Volumes comprise of various easy-to-understand, short and simple booklets having brief text
followed by solved examples. The solved examples are intended to guide you to adopt a step-wise
approach. These booklets are prepared strictly according to authoritative syllabus of each
subject, i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, prescribed by JEE/AIEEE in their respective
Information Brochures.

Supplement Volumes

Each volume of study material is followed by a Supplement Volume having unsolved exercises
called Self-Test Series to enable the students to review the major and important points and evaluate
their grasp of the application of the concepts discussed. This is not strictly a time-bound exercise.
This part is very important: It will not only reinforce one's impression about facts and figures but also
their use in various situations. Should they feel any difficulty in solving any of the problem, they may
consult Solutions provided alongwith respective Self-Test Series .

Test Series

During the Course we conduct PostalTest Series, which includes Interim Test Series and Final Test Series are earmarked for JEE/AIEEE. The Interim Test Series are designed to judge a students’ grasp on the topics covered. Since the Test Papers are objective-type and set on pattern and standard of the JEE/AIEEE, these will give you an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the type of questions you are likely to face in the ensuing JEE/AIEEE. Apart from building your confidence, performance at these Test Series, this will also help you to realise your weaknesses in areas where you must exert more concentration.

After a thorough exercise of all study material and Interim Test Series, the candidate is given a chance to write Final Test Series to adjudge his/her capability. To a large extent, the result of Final Test Series is the true indicator of the candidate's performance and preparedness for the real-life entrance examinations.

Model Papers

A set of Model Papers consisting of important questions for the practice will be sent to every
candidate enrolled with the Publication about 15 days before the respective scheduled dates of
entrance examination.

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTIONS

The Course is conducted in English medium only, written in simple and easy to understand style. The idea is to enable students of any other medium to develop a concrete foundation on which they are supposed to build a superstructure during their study in IIT, because in engineering courses the medium of instruction is English only.

STUDY PROGRAMME

A detailed study programme will be issued immediately after enrolment, according to which the study material will be despatched to the students. Normally, the first volume of study material will be sent to a candidate within a week's time after enrolment, and the subsequent study material will be despatched at regular intervals (as per study programme). These intervals depend upon the basis of time-span available. Thus, it is recommended that students who wish to study at normal pace, should join the course at the earliest. Study material will be despatched under Registered Post / Courier Service.
