General Instructions on admission procedure

Eligibility: Bachelors Degree in any subject with not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all parts of examination.
Or
Masters Degree in any subject (A pass in any Bachelor’s Degree for candidates belonging to SC/ST)

Selection is based on MGU MAT, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Those candidates who have valid MAT Score (up to February 2011) are exempted from MGU MAT.

1.Selection process
The marks for preparing final ranklist are to be arrived at in the following proportion for MBA course.
MBA : 60:20:20 (Entrance Test: Group Discussion: Personal Interview)



Entrance test (2 hours duration) consists of objective type questions to assess the candidate’s ability in Verbal reasoning, Quantitative reasoning, data interpretation, Mathematical Comprehension, English knowledge & Comprehension and general knowledge.

TEST CENTRES: Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

2. Communal reservation
The percentage break up of seats as per mandatory reservation norms based on University/ Government rules is as follows.
Ezhava / Thiyya - 8%
Muslim - 7%
Latin Catholics other than Anglo Indians - 1%
Other Backward Christians - 1%
(SIUC & converts to Christianity from SC)
Other Backward Hindus - 3%
Scheduled Castes - 15%
Scheduled Tribes - 7.5%
BPL among forward community - 7.5%
Kudumbi - 1% ( from State merit quota)
(for admission to professional courses)

In case of absence of SC/ST candidates, vacancy will be filled up from eligible OEC candidates.

BPL candidates among forward community should invariably submit BPL certificate from Panchayath/ Municipal/ Corporation authorities proving their eligibility along with application.

How to Apply
a) Application forms can be downloaded from the Website www.mgu.ac.in Application forms are not available at any other source.

b) Candidates should remit the REGISTRATION fee Rs 500/- ( Five hundred only) at the University CASH COUNTER/ FRIENDS JANASEVANAKENDRAM or by way of D.D drawn in favour of the FINANCE OFFICER, MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY, PAYABLE AT SBT M.G UNIVERSITY CAMPUS BRANCH ( Code No.669), P.D HILLS P.O, KOTTAYAM. Full postal address of the applicant, with pin code is to be entered on the reverse side of the DD in block letters.

c) SC/ST candidates need pay only 50% of the registration fee.

d) Fee once remitted shall not be refunded.

e) University will not be responsible for delay in communication or late receipt of any document due to postal delay.

f) The filled up application form should be complete in all respects. Defective and incomplete applications will be rejected.

g) A self-addressed stamped (Rs.5/-) envelop is to be attached along with the application.


ELIGIBILITY
a) All those who possess the approved minimum qualification are eligible to apply.
b) Only the courses and their equivalents approved by the Mahatma Gandhi University shall be reckoned as eligible qualification.
c) Copies of documents to prove qualification/age/caste and other relevant certificates should be attached along with the application. Original
documents should be produced at the time of interview/ admission.
d) Candidates AWAITING FINAL YEAR RESULTS CAN ALSO APPLY FOR THE COURSE PROVIDED THEY CAN PRODUCE THEIR MARKLISTS BEFORE REGISTRATION TO UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION.
e) No rounding of percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted.
f) Those who have qualified from Universities other than M.G University/ Board Examination of Kerala/CBSC/ICSE should produce eligibility/ recognition certificate from this University and Migration Certificate/NOC from parent University/ Board at the time of admission.

Duly filled up applications along with registration fee ( DD/Pay-in-Slip) and documents should be sent to the DIRECTOR,SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS STUDIES,MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY, PRIYADRASHNI HILLS, ATHRIAMPUZHA P.O, KOTTAYAM-686560. so as to reach on or before 11/4/2011.

The school has initiated steps to get approval from AICTE to start second shift MBA programme.We will be notifying the same as and when the approval is accorded. Timing and fee structure will be different for the second shift MBA programme.

The brochure is subject to modification/addition/deletion as may be deemed necessary by the University.
