i.) A candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech degree in Electronics & Communication/Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions.

OR

A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I. E.(India) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E. (India) AMIE (London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi. The preference shall be given to those candidates who are GATE qualified.

ii) The candidates must have minimum one year's full time work experience in a registered firm/company/Industry/ Educational and Research Institutes/ any Government Department Or Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought.

One year experience will be counted from the date of declaration of B.E. result. The candidates will be required to submit a No Objection Certificate from their employers.

iii) A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to get admission. The employer should also indicate that the candidate will not be withdrawn midway till the completion of the course.

C. Part Time M.Tech. Programme

(Six Semester Programme of three year duration)

i) A candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication/Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions.

OR

A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I. E.(India) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E.(India) AMIE(London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi.

Age Requirement:

A candidate should be atleast twenty one years of age before the first day of October 2015. However, the Vice-Chancellor on the basis of individual merit may relax the age up to a maximum period of one year.

The programme is open to candidates of all categories with Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology / M Sc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE, etc.) and having a valid GATE score. Note: All regular category candidates (except those having B.Tech. degrees from an IIT with a minimum CPI of 8.0) must possess a valid score of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech. Programme of the Institute shall have to possess a minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in 10 point scale) for General/OBC categories and 55% marks (or a CGPA of 5.5 in 10 point scale) for SC/ST categories in the final qualifying examination. All selected candidates have to produce the certificate with regard to the marks secured in the final qualifying examination by 31-10-2015. Reservation of Seats for SC, ST, OBC (including OBC Minorities) (Non-creamy layer) and PD categories: As per Govt. of India rules.

IITs have already issued admission notifications to their MTech courses. Some are expected to issue their admission notice soon.

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the most prestigious institutes in India that offer engineering and technological education of internationally recognized standard of excellence. The IITs offer courses at their Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee campuses and also at the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. From the year 2008 onwards, eight new IITs have been set up across the country by the Union HRD Ministry. These new IITs are located in the states of Rajasthan (Jodhpur), Bihar (Patna), Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad), Himachal Pradesh (Mandi), Orissa (Bhubaneshwar), Madhya Pradesh (Indore), Gujarat (Gandhinagar) and Punjab (Rupnagar), which has increased the total number of IITs to 15.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) jointly administered the conduct of GATE.  The Organizing Institute for GATE 2015 was IIT Kanpur.

Degrees obtained through distance education/correspondence mode, the Departments will follow interview procedure for screening in such cases.

(c) Qualified in GATE 2014 or 2015. (Candidates graduating/graduated with B.Tech. degree from IITs with CGPA of 7.5 and above for SC/ST category and 8.0 and above for others can apply without GATE score).

Financial Assistance

(i) Financial assistance in the form of Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) at the rate of Rs.8,000/- p.m. (tenable for a maximum period of 24 months) will be awarded to Indian nationals doing the M.Tech. Programmes, subject to Institute rules. HTTA students are required to assist the department for 8 hours of work per week related to academic activities of the department such as laboratory demonstration, tutorials, evaluation of assignments, test papers, seminars, research projects, etc. The number of seats available under HTTA is indicated below.

(ii) A few assistantships may also be offered by some government organizations such as Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Aeronautical Research and Development Board, and so on.

(iii) A few seats are available without HTTA (N-HTTA, i.e., without any financial assistance) in some M.Tech. Programmes as indicated in Table 1. Candidates can opt for either HTTA (code ending with Y), or N-HTTA (Code ending with N), or both, in a particular M.Tech. Programme. The eligibility criteria for HTTA and N-HTTA categories are the same.

(iv) Provision exists for the candidates who have joined M.Tech. Programmes under N-HTTA category to convert to HTTA at the end of one semester depending on the vacancies in HTTA category and on the basis of their performance in the first semester examinations.

Fellowship Schemes

(i) DAE-GF Scheme

DAE-Graduate Fellowship (DAE-GF) Scheme in various engineering disciplines is offered by Department of Atomic Energy. GATE qualified candidates selected under this scheme will get a fellowship of Rs.20,000/- per month. After successful completion of M.Tech. Programme, the DAE-GF scheme fellows will be placed in one of the DAE units.

(ii) AERB-GF Scheme

Under Atomic Energy Regulatory Board Graduate Fellowship (AERB-GF) Scheme, up to three candidates will be selected either from Mechanical Engineering (only in Design/Nuclear/ Thermal Engineering) or Chemical Engineering discipline or from both and they will be offered a monthly stipend of Rs.20,000/- for two years with a one-time educational material allowance of Rs.5,000/-. More details about AERB-GF scheme may be seen in the website www.aerb.gov.in.
