ELIGIBILITY:
Candidates who are REsident Indian or Non Resident Indian whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1987 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2009. They should have studied in regular, full time formal education in their schooling.
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB)
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology(PCM / PCB) for Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category must fill in the proforma which will be available in the information brochure and it has to be attested by competent authority.
Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh should fill in CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY proforma which will be available in the information brochure and it has to be attested by competent authority.
These documents should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes
Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes
Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in March/April 2009 are also eligible to apply.

From the designated branches of Post Offices on cash payment of RS.750/-. Details of branches from which applications will be sold is available in the VIT website: www.vita.c.in
By sending a Demand Draft for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of "VIT University", payable at Vellore, to the Admissions Officer with a request letter containing the full address of the applicant (or)
By handing over a DD for Rs.750/- in person at VIT University, Vellore (or) at their Chennai Administrative Office.

Admission to B.TECH. DEGREE PROGRAMMES for NRI / FOREIGN CATEGORY is open for the year 2009-2010


ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Candidates, should fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria to seek admission under NRI category, otherwise their admission will stand cancelled:

Minimum of 50% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) / PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) in standard XII or Equivalent Degree
PCB candidates are eligible only for Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engg. and Biotechnology programmes
PCM candidates are eligible for all 12 B.Tech. programmes
Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1987 are eligible to apply
Either the Candidate or his / her parents should be NRI
Sponsorship by relative / friend is not acceptable
All payments should be made in US$ only


The candidate should give 3 options as per the order of preference.


After the deadline of the application i.e., 31st December 2008, the final seat allotment will be done on the basis of marks secured by the candidate and the order of preference / availability of the seats.


Allotment of branch will be done on the basis of marks secured in the XI standard Annual Examination (PCM/PCB).


Selected candidates will be intimated through Email (candidates are requested to give at least 2 valid Email addresses) and they have to pay the Tuition fee within the stipulated time as mentioned in the Provisional Admission Letter.


Candidates are required to apply to VIT University with the following documents:

X and XI Mark statement / XII or Equivalent degree Examination marks (if passed out)
In case, the candidates are awarded with Grades and not with marks, it is the responsibility of the candidates to give equivalent marks for the grades secured from the concerned Institution / Board
Sponsorship letter (To be given by the parents working abroad)
Certificates issued by the employer, with full details of the designation of the parents
Passport and Visa Copies
