All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT)-2010
Veterinary Council of India, has notified the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT)-2010 for filling up the 15% of total seats of the 1st year B.V.Sc & A.H course (spread over 5 academic years including compulsory rotating internship of six months), in Government Veterinary Colleges in India (except from Jammu & Kashmir State), for academic session 2010-11.
The Examination will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on 8th May, 2010 (Saturday) at the Centres specified in the Information Bulletin.Students from the State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, as that State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. Applicant should be an Indian National and should have passed Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education or the Intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English, securing a minimum of 50% marks (General Category) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 /Intermediate Science Examination and should have passed these subjects individually also. SC/ST/OBC applicants require 10% less marks than that prescribed for General Category.
Those taking the qualifying examination prior to the Entrance Examination, or whose result is awaited, can also apply for AIPVT. Their admission will be subject to their passing the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks latest by 30th June, 2010 and submitting documentary proof during counseling, if selected.
Applicant should have attained or should attain the age of 17 years as on 31st December, 2010.

After submitting the details called for, applicant is required to take a print of the online application. The print out of the computer generated application should be sent to the Controller of Examination, Veterinary Council of India, 'A' Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi -110066 by Speed/Registered Post with a DD of Rs.800/- (General/OBC) or Rs.400/- (SC/ST) drawn in favour of 'Veterinary Council of India-Examination Fund', on any Scheduled Bank, payable at New Delhi.
Application Form duly filled and signed by the candidate should reach the office of the Council latest by 5 pm on 22nd February, 2010 by Speed/Registered Post only. Applications posted from the remote areas viz. Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Aurnachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Lahaul and Spiti Districts and Pangi sub-division of Chamba District of Himanchal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, will be accepted till 9th March, 2010.
