The focus of the teaching and research is on Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, Medical Biotechnology, Molecular Genetics, Human Physiology, Organic Chemistry, Molecular Oncology, Tumour Virology, Natural Product Chemistry, Medical Microbiology, Immunology, Pharmacology and Toxicology and Instrumentation. For admission to M. Sc-Ph.D. Combined Degree Program and M.Sc Degree Programme in Biomedical Sciences, applicant should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences/ Life Sciences/ Zoology/ Botany/ Microbiology/ Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Environmental Biology/ Biotechnology/ Laboratory Techniques/ B.Pharm/ B.V.Sc. or M.B.B.S. with at least 55% marks from University of Delhi or any other examination recognised by the University or equivalent thereto.
For Ph.D Programme, eligibility is Master's Degree in the appropriate field of Science, M.Tech, M.V.Sc, M. Pharm or M.D. with a minimum of 55% marks or B.Tech, MBBS with 70% and 60% marks or equivalent grades respectively. CSIR-UGC-ICMR-NET qualified candidates are preferred.
Those seeking admission to the M.Sc./M.Sc-Ph.D. combined Degree courses have to undertake a written test of 3 hours duration and Interview & Group Discussion.
The Admission test for M.Sc.-Ph.D and M.Sc Degree courses will be held at 9 am on June 5, 2010 (Saturday). The interview and group discussion for candidates qualifying the entrance test will be held on June 6, 2010 (Sunday), from 9 am onwards. The admission test will have multiple-choice questions, in all the areas as given above, at the Undergraduate level.
