CBSE merit scholarship schemes
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited applications for the following scholarship schemes including the Single Girl Child Scholarship on the basis of examinations conducted by the Board in the year 2010.
1. CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child For + 2 studies.
2. CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Professional Studies (AIPMT).
3. CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Professional Studies (AIEEE).
4. CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Under Graduate Studies for Single Girl Child.
5. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship For College And University Students 2010.
The details, eligibility conditions of each scheme are given in Board's website www.cbse.nic.in which may be referred to. Eligible students may apply by 31st December 2010. The Scholars of all the schemes who have been granted scholarship by the Board during the previous years may also apply for renewal of scholarships. The last date for receipt of all the applications is 31st December 2010.
Details of each Scholarship are given hereunder.
Merit Scholarship for SGC class X pass students
Eligibility: The applicant should fulfill all the criteria given below for consideration and award of scholarship:- (i) should be an Indian national and (ii) should be the girl child and only child of her parents and (iii) should be a student of CBSE in class X (i.e. passed class X from a CBSE affiliated school) and having CGPA 6.2 (Grade) or more in Class X Examinations 2010 conducted by the CBSE (As per statement of subject-wise performance issued by the Board) and (iv) currently studying in CBSE affiliated schools where the tuition fee for X standard was not more than Rs. 1,500/- per month during the Academic year 2009 - 2010. In the next 02 years the total enhancement of tuition fee in such schools shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged in the year 2009 - 2010.
Value of scholarship : Rs. 500/- per month , Duration : 02 years only (for Class XI & XII),
Applicants should write their Bank Account number with detailed address of the Bank along with the Bank Code of the Bank. All the application must be signed by the applicant.
All the applications must be certified along with signature/ stamp of the Principal of the present school where the student is studying. In case applications are not attested the same will be rejected.
Documents to be sent with the APPLICATION
1. An attested copy of Mark sheet of Class X 2010 issued by CBSE.
2. An affidavit from the parent that the candidate is the only child of her parents on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- duly sworn in before First class Judicial Magistrate/ SDM/Executive Magistrate should be submitted along with the application. Photocopy of affidavit will not be accepted.
The duly filled in proforma be sent in an envelope superscribing "APPLICATION FOR MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOR SGC X 2010 (F-1)" should be sent to the SECTION OFFICER (SCHOLARSHIP) CBSE, SHIKSHA KENDRA, 2, COMMUNITY CENTRE, PREET VIHAR, DELHI - 110 092.
Change in Address
Any change in address must be immediately reported to "Section Officer (Scholarship), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2 Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi - 110 092".
NOTE:
Scholarship will be sent to the correspondence address of applicant mentioned in application form. List of eligible applicant who are being sent scholarship will be displayed / updated on website regularly.

SGC Merit Scholarship for UG Studies
Eligibility : (i) should be an Indian national and (ii) should be the SINGLE GIRL CHILD and only child of her parents and (iv) should be a student of CBSE Board in class XII and (v) scored 60% or more marks in Class XII 2010 examinations conducted by the CBSE and (vi) currently pursuing regular undergraduate course (non-medical/non-engineering) in any Central/State Government University or those recognized by UGC/AICTE.
No. of Scholarships : 550 only, Value per month: Rs. 500/-, Duration: Three years (to be renewed subject to eligibility).
All the applications must be signed by the applicant and certified by the Head of the Institution where the admission has been obtained along with his/her signature and stamp. Applicants should write their Bank Account number with detailed address of the Bank along with the Bank Code of the Bank.
Documents to be sent with the Application
1. An attested copy of 12th class mark sheet.
2. An affidavit from the parent that the candidate is the only child of her parents on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- duly sworn in before First class Judicial Magistrate/SDM/Executive Magistrate should be submitted alongwith the application. Photocopy of the affidavit will not be accepted.
3. Copy of Admission slip issued while taking admission in undergraduate studies (BA, B Com etc.)

Change in Address
Any change in address must be immediately reported to Section Officer (Scholarship), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2 Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi -110 092.
Note:
Applicant is entitled to receive only one scholarship from CBSE at a time. If the applicant has received scholarship from any other scheme she has to refund one scholarship, failing which action will be taken as per rules.
Scholarship will be sent to the correspondence address of applicant mentioned in application form. List of eligible applicant who are being sent scholarship will be displayed / updated on website regularly.

Merit Scholarship for Professional Courses : AIEEE
Eligibility : (i) Should be an Indian national and (ii) Rank in the Merit List of AIEEE 2010 conducted by CBSE, and (iii) Pursuing professional course in engineering in any Central University/Institution controlled or aided by Central Government/AIEEE participating Institutions and (iv) 10% of the total scholarships will be awarded to those who are otherwise eligible and are the only girl child in the family.
No. of Scholarships : 350. Value per month : Rs. 1000/- , Duration : Four years (To be renewed on year to year basis subject to eligibility)
All the applications must be signed by the applicant and certified by the Head of the Institution where the admission has been taken alongwith his/her signature and stamp. Applicants should write their Bank Account number with detailed address of the Bank along with the Bank Code the Bank.
Documents to be sent with the Application
1. An attested copy of rank obtained.
2. An affidavit from the parent if the candidate is the only child of her parents on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- duly sworn in before First class Judicial Magistrate/SDM/Executive Magistrate should be submitted along with the application.
3.AIEEE Score Card & Admission Slip indicating name of engineering college and stream/course in which admission taken.
