ADMISSION
POLICY
In consonance with public notice advertised by the
Federation of Self Financed Colleges of Education (Regd.) Punjab in daily
newspapers “The Tribune, Punjabi Tribune, Ajit & Jag Bani” dated 15/08/2012
as empowered by Honorable Punjab & Haryana High Court vide C.W.P.13607 of
2011 order dated 30/07/2012 to regulate the admission process of M.Ed. course
as directed in view of the Law laid down C.W.P. No. 2196 of 2010 dated
07/07/2010 in favour of the federation, to devise their own procedure of
admissions of students to the M.Ed. programme w.e.f. 2012.
Thus, the Federation of Self Financed Colleges of
Education (Regd.) Punjab has formulated the following guidelines for the M.Ed.
admission session 2012-13, for Self Financed member colleges located in the
state of Punjab, as per NCTE/ affiliating university norms. Eligibility,
Division of Seats and Reservation of Seats. The following scheme is notified
for the information of all concerned.
Procedure of admission to M.Ed. course session
2012-13:-
(a) The
admission to M.Ed. course session 2012-13 will be done by NYSA Communications (P)
Ltd. on behalf of Federation of Self
Financed Colleges of Education (Regd.) Punjab through online Centralized
counseling process.
(b) The
eligible candidates aspiring for admission to M.Ed. course session 2012-13
shall submit their application online on the format given on the website of the
Federation of Associations of Self Financed Colleges of Education (Regd.)
Punjab i.e. www.medpunjab.org designed for admission to
M.Ed. course.
(c) The
admission to M.Ed. course shall be done through Online Counseling by admission committee
constituted by the Federation of Self Financed Colleges of Education (Regd.)
Punjab, in two phases. The schedule of counseling shall be notified in two leading
news papers.
(d) The Entrance
test conducted by the Panjab University, Chandigarh and entrance test conducted
by Punjabi University, Patiala norms of ascertaining merit for admission to M.Ed.
course shall be taken into consideration
for the students interested in the respective
universities.
(e) The
candidates who have appeared in the Entrance Test for M.Ed. course 2012 conducted
by Panjab University, Chandigarh on 15th July, 2012 can apply only for admission
to M.Ed. course session 2012-13 in the
colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh & the candidates who
have appeared in the Entrance Test for M.Ed. course 2012 conducted by Punjabi
University, Patiala on 05/08/2012 can apply only for admission to M.Ed. course
session 2012-13 in the colleges affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala
& conducted by the Federation of
Self Financed Colleges of Education Punjab (Regd.).
(f)
(x) The minimum qualifying marks
in the Entrance Test are 20% for general category candidates and 15% in case of
SC/ST, BC and blind candidates.
(g) (x)
The final merit for admission shall be computed as follows by giving 50%
weightage to entrance test and 50% weightage to the qualifying examination. Any
other permissible weightage such as NCC, NSS, Cultural Activities, Youth
Welfare and weightage of passing last examination from Panjab University as per
University rules whatever applicable shall be added.
(h) The
candidates aspiring for M.Ed. Admission 2012 conducted by the Federation of
Self Financed Colleges of Education, Punjab (Regd.) will get online registration
for admission on the website i.e www.medpunjab.org. They can take the help from any of the listed
Self Financed Colleges available on the website.
(i)
After filling the online registration, to participate in the counseling,
the candidate has to deposit a non-refundable counselling fee amounting to 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) for general
category candidates and 500/- (Rupees
Five Hundred only) of SC/ST candidates by the following ways within prescribed dates & time
available on the website – www.medpunjab.org.
- Deposit the prescribed fee in the bank (listed
on website) in form of EPayment
- Pay through E-Cash Coupon (Available in colleges
listed on the Website)
(j) The
scratch card will contain a Serial Number & ID Number. After filling form number,
password, serial number & ID number on website, the candidate will enter
his/her choices of colleges. Minimum four choices are mandatory, if possible.
(k) After
online registration and choice filling, the provisional merit will be declared.
Student’s complaints will be attended for one day
before releasing final merit list
(l) Each
Affiliated college listed on website of Federation shall create help desk for M.Ed.
admissions 2012.
(m) At the time of
admission allotted college will
verify the documents of the candidate. If it is found that the information
provided by the student during the on-line registration was wrong (such
information which may affect the merit), the
admission committee will cancel the candidature and no claim will be entertained
in this regard.
The students should themselves hold responsible for
filling the online registration form and making the choices on their own
behalf, because it is the sole responsibility of the students. Hence, it is
recommended that the students may proceed to the process of online registration
by their own level. However, they can take the help from the Help Desks
established by the institutions for the convenience of the students. The
institutions will not be held responsible for any online activity done by the
students.

Eligibility
Conditions: The admission to M.Ed course (regular 1 year) session 2012-13
would have following criteria of eligibility
Eligibility for entrance test is 55% in B.Ed (50%
in case of SC/ST/BC candidates)
Qualifying marks for entrance test are 20% (15% in
case of SC/ST/BC and blind candidates)
Eligibility criteria for NRI quota seats shall be
as per rules and regulations of Panjab University, Chandigarh
How to
apply: Only those eligible candidates should apply who are interested to
take admission in the member colleges of Federation of Associations of Self
Financed Colleges of Education (Regd) Punjab which are enlisted on the website www.medpunjab.org.

The students seeking the admission through online
counseling have to follow the following steps
Online Registration: Student shall log on to www.medpunjab.org
Before you proceed to register yourself for
counselling you must ensure that you have read and understood the eligibility
criteria for all categories
For new registration click on to registration for
Punjab 85% quota or registration for All India 15% quota from the student login
for M.Ed (Punjab)
Student should fill his/her basic details like
name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, address, state,
city, mobile number, email and academic detail very carefully
Single registration is sufficient for all
categories and for all colleges
Duplicate registration will not be accepted
Before final submission of online registration
form, read the declaration given in the website carefully and give your consent
to it, failing which you will not be able to complete your registration
So you must check your information details
carefully before final submission of your registration form
Students will fill their own password which they
will keep safe to avoid misuse by another person
Candidate can edit registration details as many
time within the period of registration mentioned in key date.
