Post Graduate Entrance Test
for admission to Medical and Dental Courses for the academic year 2013-14
The
Post Graduate Entrance Test - 2013 is being conducted for the purpose of
determining the eligibility for admission of students to PG Degree and Diploma
courses in Medical subjects and PG Degree and Diploma courses in Dental
subjects in Government colleges and Government seats in Private Medical and
Dental Colleges and Deemed Universities within the State of Karnataka, in
respect of Government seats for the academic year 2013-14. The seats available
in the different colleges in the State of Karnataka have been divided into
State Government seats and Management seats. The Post Graduate Entrance Test is
being conducted in accordance with the “Ordinances governing conduct of
Entrance Test for Admission to Post-Graduate Degree and Diploma (Medical and
Dental) courses, 2002” which have been framed under the RGUHS Act, 1994 and
subsequent amendments and Government Orders. Therefore, the details and
instructions contained in this Brochure are subject to the said Ordinances.
Eligibility: Candidates who fulfill
the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test,
namely:-
(a) He/She is a citizen
of India.
(b) He/She must have
studied and passed the courses leading to the award of MBBS/BDS Degrees in
colleges recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India and
Government of India established by law and located in Karnataka State; or
(c) Candidate must be
of Karnataka origin who has studied MBBS/BDS degrees in colleges outside
Karnataka recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India and
Government of India and affiliated to any University established by law in
India. Explanation:- “Candidates of Karnataka origin” means who or
his/her parents (father or mother) has been a resident of Karnataka State for a
period of not less than ten years, and who produces a certificates from the
Concerned Tahasildar to that effect in the prescribed form (Appendix VII).
(d) He/She has
completed or is completing compulsory rotatory internship on or before 30th
April of the year in which application for entrance test is called for subject
to completion of internship course.
(e) A candidate, who is
already holding a Post-Graduate degree in any speciality, shall not be eligible
to appear for test for admission to any Post Graduate Degree/Diploma courses.
(f) A candidate who is
already holding a Post-Graduate diploma in any subject is eligible to apply for
Master’s degree in the same subject.
(g) Must be less than
45 years of age as on the date of admission to Postgraduate course for Non
In-service candidates.
Provided that the
requirements mentioned under rule 2(c) shall not be applicable in the case of:-
(a) The children of
serving or retired employees of All India Services, Karnataka cadre of the
State Government who had served or are serving outside the State during the
period the candidate had been studying from the first standard till the
commencement of the first year of the course leading to the degree in the
qualifying examination, to the extent of the period of such service outside the
state.
(b) Children of Central
Government employees and employees of Central or State Government undertaking
or Joint Sector working continuously in Karnataka for at least three years as
on the 30th April of that year.
(c) Children of Central
Government employees and employees of Central or State Government undertakings
or Joint Sector undertaking working as on the 30th April of that year outside
the state where such employee had:-
(i) declared to the
respective Government Organization a place in Karnataka as his home town, and
(ii) studied for not
less than five years between the First Standard and SSLC or equivalent examination
in any educational institution in Karnataka run or recognized by the State
Government.
(d) The children of Members of Parliament elected
from the Karnataka to the extent of the period of being a Member of Parliament
during the period of the child’s study in New Delhi from the First Standard to
the qualifying examination during his tenure as Member of Parliament.
(e) The children of serving Defence Personnel or
Ex-servicemen whose address at the time of joining the Defence Service is in
Karnataka.
Note:
(i) Children for the purpose of the rule means
natural born son or daughter and not adopted son Or daughter and not grandson
or grand daughter
(ii) The candidates claiming any of the exemption
specified above shall produce such certificate as specified by the committee
for claiming such exemption
“Last Date for receipt of printed
application with documents either by person or by post at University is
24.01.2013 by 05-00 PM” Applications are liable
for rejection:
A. If application is incomplete.
B. If the photographs submitted through online and
pasted on the application form are not matching.
C. If the applicant has not signed in the
application.
D. If photograph used in the application is taken
before 01.12.2012.
E. If the photograph does not possess the date and
name of the applicant.
3. Registration Fee: Mode of payment The prescribed
registration fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided by Axis
Bank using a Credit Card or a Debit Card or through Internet Banking.
Candidates are hereby informed that payment SHOULD NOT be made through Demand
Draft or any other mode of payment other than what is mentioned above. The
details of prescribed fee are as follows.
SC, ST and Category – I Rs. 500/-
GM & Others--Rs. 2,000/-
Note: Registration fee is not refundable under any circumstances. 4.
Application Form: (a) Guidelines to fill the online Application form: Note:
Since the Applicant should upload their photographs in online application
entry, the applicant should scan their passport size photograph (Snapped after
01.12.2012 with Name & Date on the photograph) in .jpg format and make
available for uploading with the following specifications. Width = 1.3 inches,
Height = 1.6 inches, Resolution = 200 X 200 dpi and the file size should be
less than 100kb.
How to submit:
I) IN PERSON: Printout of
Application form filled online, along with attested copies of all required
certificates, may be submitted, in person, at RGUHS, 4th ‘T’ Block, Jayanagar,
Bangalore – 560 041, and the Hall Ticket for the Entrance Test shall be down
loaded from the University website.
II) IN ABSENTIA: Any person authorized by the candidate duly signed by him, can
submit the printout of application form filled in all respects along with attested
copies of all required certificates. The Hall Ticket for the Entrance Test
shall be down loaded from the University website.
III) BY POST: Print out of
application filled online, along with attested copies of all required
certificates may be sent by post to “The Member secretary, PGET Cell, Rajiv
Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. 4th ‘T’ Block, Jayanagar,
Bangalore – 560 041”. Candidates should super scribe on the cover as “Application
for PGET 2013”. The Hall Ticket for the Entrance Test shall be down loaded
from the University website.
The candidates have to download the Hall Ticket for the Entrance
Test from the RGUHS website from 16.02.2013 using their Application number.
NOTE :
1. Please note that the candidate will not become eligible for
attending the entrance test only by online registration. The candidate must
ensure that print out of his/her application with all enclosures mentioned in
the brochure reaches the RGUHS on or before 24.01.2013, 5.00 PM BY IN
PERSON OR BY POST. RGUHS is not responsible for any postal
delay.
2. The applications without copies of certificates duly attested
will be rejected
3. The print-out of the applications with relevant documents
received after 24.01.2013 will be rejected.

Please
note that the candidate will not become eligible for attending the entrance
test only by online registration. The candidate must ensure that print out of
his/her application with all enclosures mentioned in the brochure reaches the
RGUHS on or before 24/01/2013, 5.00 PM in person or by Post. RGUHS is not
responsible for any postal delay. The print-out of the applications received
after 24/01/2013 shall be strictly rejected.
NOTE:
The
instructions are based on the existing selection rules. Amendments made by
Government of Karnataka from time to time and any other law that will be in
force at the appropriate stage will apply.
