Admission to M.D.S. Courses 2013
Eligibility:
A candidate for admission to the M.D.S. course (Master
of Dental Surgery) must possess a degree of B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
duly recognized by the Dental Council of
India and should have obtained permanent registration from any of the state
dental councils of India. Candidate not possessing a recognized dental qualification
for the above purpose should secure the prior approval regarding qualification
by the Dental Council of India before he/she can be admitted to the M.D.S. course. The candidate for admission to M.D.S.
course should have completed his / her C.R.I (Compulsory Rotatory Internship) on or before 30th March 2013.

Duration:
The duration of the course is three academic years.
The academic year for M.D.S. commences in the month of April every year.

Admission
Procedure:
The admission for MDS degree course is based on
merit depending on theperformance of the candidate in the Entrance Examination.
An All India Entrance Examination will be held on 9th of February 2013. The results
of the examination will be published in the third week of February, 2013.
Counseling will be held in the month of March. The course will commence
on01.04.13. The formal induction of new students will take place at the
Auditorium at College of Dental Surgery, Saveetha University on 01.04.13 at
10.00 A.M.Application for the Entrance Examination 2012:
The Application for the PG Entrance Examination
will be issued from 03.12.2012onwards. Applications can be obtained on payment
of Rs. 1000 by cash (or) D.D. taken in favor of “Saveetha University”, payable
at Chennai in person, (or) Rs.1050 by Post. Applications can also be downloaded
from the Website, www.saveetha.com and the completed applications forms should be
accompanied by DD for Rs.1000/- taken in favor of Saveetha University, payable
at Chennai.
Completed Application forms should reach the Director of
Admissions, Saveetha University, Chennai on or before 31.01.2013.
(There is no need to send any original or
photocopies of certificates along with the application form for the entrance
examination).
The hall ticket will be sent by post to all the
applicants before 05.02.2013. Those who have not received the hall ticket by
05.02.2013 can contact ‘The Director of Admissions’ by phone or email admission@saveetha.com.
Date and
Venue of the Examination:
The Examination will be held in the University
Examination hall at the Saveetha University Campus, 162, Poonamallee High Road,
Chennai – 600 077 on 09.02.13 between 9.30 AM and 12.30PM.
Scheme of
Entrance Examination:
There will be 200 multiple-choice questions. Each
right answer carries one mark.
There is no negative marking. The duration of the
examination is three hours. The mark distributions in the various subjects are
as follows:

Counseling:
The examination result and the call letter for
counseling will be sent to the selectedCandidates. The selected candidates
should appear for counseling on the said date and time. The counseling will be
held on 20th of March2013 in the University Campus. Seat allotment will
be done based on the rank list subject to fulfillment of the eligibility
criteria.

The candidate should be present for the counseling
at appointed date and time without fail. It is mandatory that the candidate
brings the prescribed tuition fees (mentioned below) to appear in the
counseling.
In case of candidates securing equal marks in the
entrance examination, the candidate with higher score in the qualifying
examination will be given preference.
Candidates who are not present for counseling on
the specified date and time do not have any rights to claim any seat.
The Candidate should be present for the counseling
accompanied by a parent / guardian. The following original documents with three
sets of attested photocopies should be submitted at the time of counseling if
selected.

University
13. Three stamp size and Eight Passport size

14. Nationality certificate (Foreign Students only)

Fee
Structure:
The Candidates once selected for admission should
pay the following fees at the time of admission and thereafter in the month of
March every year. The fees once paid will not be refunded. In case the
candidate wants to discontinue / withdraw during the middle of the course, he /
she has to pay the entire course fee (for three years) before discontinuing
from the course.

Apart from
the annual fees, the following has to be paid at the time of admission.
