ADMISSION NOTIFICATION (2013 - 2015) - Vessel Navigator and Marine Fitter Trades

The Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical & Engineering Training (CIFNET) at Kochi/ Chennai/ Visakhapatnam offers career training to candidates in Vessel Navigator and Marine Fitter Trades which have been introduced by Directorate General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour, New Delhi under Craftsman Training Scheme of NCVT. The training courses of 24 months duration include basic practical training on board fishing vessels out at sea. The courses are scheduled to be commenced from 1⁸¹ August 2013.

2. Applications in the prescribed form are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the above courses through entrance examination to be held on 22^ndJune 2013 at Kochi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Kolkota, Delhi, Bhubaneswar & Bombay. If sufficient candidates are not available in particular centre, the next nearest centre will be allotted for appearing Entrance examination. Further, the selected candidates will be paid Rs.700/- (Seven hundred) per month as stipend.

3. Qualification:-

(i) Essential: Pass in 10^th Standard (SSLC) or equivalent examination with 40% in Maths and Science separately. The candidates who are appearing 10^th Examination during March 2013 are also eligible to apply. However the selection will be made only through marks obtained in 10^th and Entrance examination.

(ii) Desirable: One year fishing experience, (iii) Age: 16 to 20 years as on 1^st August 2013 candidates born between 02.08.93 and 02.08.97 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply. Upper age limit is relaxable to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates by 5 years.

5. Prospectus and application forms can be had from Director, CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi-682016 OR Deputy Director, CIFNET Unit, 59, S.N. Street, Royapuram, Chennai - 600 013 OR Deputy Director, CIFNET Unit, Beach Road, Visakhapatnam -530 001 by Demand Draft for Rs 300/- (Rs.150/- for SC / ST) drawn in favour of Sr.Administrative Officer, CIFNET payable at Kochi-682 016 with a self addressed stamped (Rs. 15/-) envelope, or on cash payment at CIFNET Office upto 17^th May 2013. Application can also be downloaded from our website and applied with DD for the above said amount. Filled in applications with necessary particulars should reach the Director, CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi-682 016 on or before 17^th May 2013. The filled applications sent through Fax or E-Mail also will not be treated as valid and will be rejected.
