CH Muhammed Koya Muslim Scholarship
Director of Collegiate Education, Government of
Kerala has invited applications from girl students belonging to the Muslim or
Latin Catholic or Converted Christian communities for the award of the CH
Muhammed Koya Muslim Scholarship (Mulim Girls Scholarship).
Applicants should be residing permanently in Kerala
and studying in Under Graduate Programmes or higher degree programmesin
Government/Government Aided Institutions.
Those girl students belonging to these communities
who have written a Common Entrance Examinations and have been allotted and
admitted under the Government quota in Self-financing Colleges are also
eligible to apply for the scholarships and Stipend.
The scheme includes Scholarships as well as hostel
stipends. There are 3000 scholarships for the Under Graduate Courses carrying
an amount of Rs.4000/- per annum. For the Post Graduate courses, there are 1000
scholarships each carrying a sum of Rs. 5000/- per annum. In case of
Professional courses, the number of scholarships is 1000, each having value of
Rs.6000/- per annum.
Each of the 2000 hostel stipends carries an amount
of Rs.12000/- per annum. An applicant will become eligible either for the
scholarship or hostel stipend. Girl students of these communities, who could
not apply in the first year of their course, can apply in the succeeding years.
However, their applications will not however have retrospective effect.
Applicant should be girl student permanently
settled in Kerala and belonging to the Muslim or Latin Catholic or Converted
Christians Community. Applicant should have secured at least 50% marks in the
qualifying Examination.The annual income of the family should be below
Rs.4,50,000/-
Those applying for the Hostel Stipend, should be
residing in Hostels run by Government, Universities, IHRD, LBS or Hostels run
by the Institution or in hostels approved by the institution where the student
is studying. Those getting hostel fees from other departments should not apply.
Applicant should have a Bank account in his/her name
in one of State Bank of Travancore/ State Bank of India / South Indian
Bank/Federal Bank. This is mandatory to apply for the Scholarship. The account
should be linked with their Adhar Number. In case the applicant has a minor
account, the same should be converted to a major account or adult account and
the same should be live, when applying for the scholarship.
Applications: Applications can be submitted only
‘ONLINE’ at the Scholarship Website of Department of Collegiate Education,
www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in. The last date for Online Submission of the
Application by students is 29th November, 2013. Online Submission of
Application can be done through the link, ‘C H Muhammedkoya Scholarship (MGS)’
provided in the Home Page of Scholarship website and following the instructions
given at the site.
After submitting the required details,
successfully, applicant should take a printout of the registration form.
Applicant should paste her recent passport size photograph in the printout.
This printout with the photo pasted, along with the documents listed below,
should be submitted to the Head of the Institution, latest by 11.12.2013.

(i) Attested copy of mark list of SSLC, attested by
a Gazetted Officer
(ii) Attested copy of first page of bank pass book
in the name of the student, showing account number, name, code etc attested by
a Gazetted Officer
(iii) Copy of the Adhar Card/NPR Card
(iv) Copy of the Nativity Certificate, attested by
Gazetted Officer
(v) Copy of the Mark list of Qualifying Examination
attested by a Gazetted Officer
(vi) Copy of the Community Certificate
(vii) Original Income Certificate from the Village
Office
(viii) Inmate Certificate obtained from the Hostel
and Countersigned by the Head of the Institution, in case of those staying in
hostels
(ix) Copy of allotment memo in case of those in
merit seats of Self-financing colleges.
The Online Verification of the applications of
students and the approval of the applications at Institutional level is to be
completed by 20.12.2013. Applications in respect of Government/Aided Colleges
may be retained in the Institute.
Applications in case of those studying in
Self-financing Colleges should be forwarded to ‘The Special Officer
Scholarships, Directorate of Collegiate Education, 6th Floor, Vikas Bhavan,
Thiruvananthapuram-695033’ to reach latest by 31.12.2013
