Offered jointly by the National Council for
Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) and the Indira Gandhi
National Open University (IGNOU).
Applications have been invited for the Joint
Entrance Examination (JEE) 2014, for admission to the full time regular three
year (Six Semester) B.Sc Degree Programme in Hospitality and Hotel
Administration offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management
& Catering Technology (NCHMCT) and the Indira Gandhi National Open
University (IGNOU). The Programme is aimed at equipping the scholars with
knowledge, technical skills and service attitude for Hospitality Industry.
Admission shall be based on marks obtained in the
All India (Written Test) Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2014 to be held from
10 am to 1 pm, on 26thApril 2014 (Saturday). Allotment of Institute shall
strictly be in order of merit & rank. No group discussions or personal
interviews are involved in this admission process.
Eligibility:
Applicant should have passed the 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or
its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. Candidate must have passed English
as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination.
Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination
can also appear in JEE 2014 on provisional basis. Provisional admission will
stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or
its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling or at the time of
admission or latest by 30thSeptember, 2014.
The offer of admission is subject to verification
of original certificates/documents at the time of admission. If any candidate
is found ineligible at a later date even after admission to an Institute,
his/her admission will stand cancelled.
Qualifying examinations for Indian students
include,
(i) Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern
of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as
Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate
Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education.
(ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University
Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
(iii) General Certificate Education (GCE)
Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
(iv) High School Certificate Examination of the
Cambridge University.
(v) Any Public School/Board/University Examination
in India or in a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian
Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education.
(vi) H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
(vii) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted
by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English
as one of the Subjects.
Age: For
applicants of General and OBC categories, the upper age limit will be 22 years
as on 01.07.2014. Those born on or after July 01, 1992 are eligible. In the
case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, the upper age limit
will be 25 years as on 01.07.2014. SC/ST candidates born on or after July 1,
1989 are eligible. Upper age limit for Physically Challenged candidates shall
be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to (General/SC/ST/OBC).
Physical
Fitness: All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness
certificate at the time of admission from a Registered Medical Practitioner in
the prescribed format given at Appendix-I at https://applyadmission.net/nchmjee2014/appendix-I.pdf
Reservation of Seats: Seats are reserved
forcandidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PD/Kashmiri Migrants etc as per Government

Application:
Application can be submitted online or Offline.
Offline
Application: Application form and Information Brochure will be available
from 23.12.2013 at NCHMCT Office, Noida (National Council for Hotel Management
& Catering Technology, A-34, Institutional Area, Sector-62, NOIDA, Uttar
Pradesh-201309) and at 52 affiliated Institutes of Hotel Management across the
country. Addresses of these institutions can be had from www.nchmct.org. Fee
for offline application is Rs.900/- for General/OBC categories and Rs.450/- for
SC/ST/PD categories.
Online
Application: Online application can be submitted at
https://applyadmission.net/nchmjee2014/
from 5th
December 2013, till 7th April 2014 (Monday).
For Online
application, the fee is Rs.800/- for General/OBC categories and Rs.400/- for
SC/ST/PD categories.
The Fee can be paid either by Credit Card/Debit
Card (approved by Master/Visa) or by Demand Draft. In case of payment by way of
Credit Card/Debit Card, the same can be done while submitting the online
application.
If the candidate wishes to pay the fee by Demand
Draft, it has to be obtained before proceeding with the submission of the
online application since details of the Demand Draft, will have to be provided
by the applicant at the time of online registration. Applicant must obtain a
Demand Draft for Rs.800/-(Rs.400/- in case of SC/ST/PH Candidate) drawn in
favour of 'NCHMCT' payable at Noida/Delhi, in advance.
In case of
payment by way of Credit Card/Debit Card, applicant will have to provide
certain details from the Card at the time of filling online application. After
filling the form correctly, applicant has to click the button ‘Proceed Next’.
The data filled by the applicant will be displayed. In case any information is
to be changed, applicant may click ‘Back to Edit Application Form’ button. If
there is no change in information, applicant should click ‘Pay Now!’ button.
Applicant may recheck before submitting online as
no editing is possible after submission. In case of any Payment error due to
any network communication/connectivity problems and the application form does
not get materialize but the amount has been debited from applicant’s account,
the same will be refunded to the account after the reconciliation with Bank and
declaration of the JEE 2014 result. In such cases, applicant has to register
again.
In case of payment by Demand Draft, after filling
the form correctly, applicant should click the button ‘Proceed Next’ and the
data filled by the applicant will be displayed. In case one wishes to change
any information, click ‘Back to Edit Application Form’ button. If there is no
change in information, click ‘Submit’ button. Applicant should recheck before
submitting online as no editing is possible after submission.
In either case of payment of fee, an auto-generated
Application Number will be allotted to applicant on successful submission of
online Application form and this will appear on print version of the
Application Form. Before taking the print out, save the print version of
application form using ‘SAVE AS’ function in the ‘FILE’ menu of the window.
Applicant has to affix his/her passport size photograph & signature in the
space provided on the print version of application after taking the print out.
Applicant may keep photocopy of this application form for future reference.
Applicant should send the print out of the filled
online JEE 2014 Application Form with auto-generated Application No. with
photograph affixed and duly signed to ‘JEE Cell, National Council for Hotel
Management & Catering Technology,A-34, Institutional Area, Sector-62,
NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh-201309’, to reach latest by7th April 2014.In case the fee
is paid by DD, applicant has to send that also with the printout, with the name
and auto-generated application number written on the back of Demand Draft.
Registration Process will be completed only on
receipt of duly completed Print Version of Online Application Form.

Admit Card of those candidates whose application
form reaches JEE Cell, National Council for Hotel Management & Catering
Technology, A-34, Institutional Area, Sector-62, Noida, Uttar Pradesh- 201309
by the stipulated date, will be uploaded at http://www.nchmct.org
or https://applyadmission.net/nchmjee2014
after 1400 hrs on 19th April 2014
(Saturday) for downloading. Applicants may access the admit card using NCHMCT
Application Number (Auto-generated number given on Online Application Form) and
take the printout of Admit Card having the Roll Number and Test Centre address.
Admit card
will not be issued through post.
Applicant should affix on the Admit Card, two
similar photographs already kept in self custody and get the Photographs on the
Admit Card attested by any Gazetted Officer or Head of the Institute / School
from where the candidate has passed or is going to pass. This has to be
produced, duly completed at the test centre for appearing in the test.
Admit Card will be verified and signed by the
Invigilator during the test. The Upper Half of the Admit Card will be collected
by the Invigilator and the Lower Half will be handed over to the candidate.
The result will be available at website in the second week of
May, 2014.
Counselling will be held in the 1stweek of June, 2014 and the
Academic Session will commence on 28th July, 2014.
