Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad was established
in the year 1961 and declared as Institute of National Importance by the
Government of India vide NIT Act 2007. It has marked its presence as a leading
research and teaching institute. Its strengths and standing are best evidenced
by the high quality of the national and international students admitted in
various UG, PG and Ph D programmes. Mission of MNNIT is to excel in the field
of technology and management in the backdrop of glorious intellectual and
cultural ethos of the Country which makes it to be the most preferred destination
for young aspiring students. All round grooming of students is ensured through
committed faculty, application of latest technology in laboratories, a distinct
curriculum comprising of rigorous classroom sessions, coupled with other
activities like seminars, industry interactions, field surveys, sports and
cultural events.
School of Management Studies, since its inception
in the year 1996, has been striving to achieve the goal of the Institute to
provide world class management education and a holistic experience of values to
its students in a technical ambience. The Department is ranked among top 50
Business Schools of the Country by Outlook MDRA Survey 2012. SMS offers a full
time Master of Business Administration programme. Students get the advantage of
dual specialization in the streams of: Marketing Management, Financial
Management, Human Resource Management and Systems Management.
ELIGIBILITY
a) The
candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science or an
equivalent degree with Mathematics/Economics as one of the subjects in the
qualifying examination, with at least 60% marks or CPI 6.5 [50% or CPI 5.5 in
case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and
Differently Abled (DA) (this may also referred to as Persons with Disability
(PWD) category)], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of
the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions
established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed-to-be University
under the UGC Act, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the
Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
b) Candidates
appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification
examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting
results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join
the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by
June 30, 2014 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued
on or before June 30, 2014) stating that the candidate has completed all the
requirements for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on
the date of the issue of the certificate. However, marks sheet of qualifying
examination must be submitted to the office of Dean (Academic) on or before the
first week of September 2014..
c) Applicants

Note: This Institute uses CAT Percentile for
short-listing the candidates for its full time two years MBA programme. IIMs
have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the
programme.

Sub-Category reservation will be applicable as per
Government of India rules.
Reservation
As per the Government of India requirements, 15% of
the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe
(ST) candidates, 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC)
candidates belonging to the "non-creamy" layer. For an updated list
of state-wise OBCs eligible for availing the benefit of resrvation, please
visit the list maintained by the NCBC at its website
http://ncbc.nic.in/backward-classes/index.html. You may also access information
in respect to the creamy layer at http://ncbc.nic.in/Creamylayer.html. In case
of NC-OBC category, the caste included in the Central List of NC-OBC by the
National Council of Backward Classes, Government of India as on February 22,
2013 (Last date of submitting application form) will be used. Any subsequent
changes will not be effective for admission.
As per the provision under Section 39 of the PWD
Act, 1995, 3% seats are reserved for Differently Abled (DA) candidates. The
three categories of disability are: (a) Low-vision/blindness, (b) hearing
impairment, and (c) locomotor disability/cerebral palsy. This provision is
applicable if the candidate suffers from any of the listed disabilities to the
extent of not less than 40%, as certified by a medical authority as prescribed
and explained in the said Act.

Procedure
Applicants are required to submit their application
through on-line application system using the portal www.academics/mnnit.ac.in/fresh_mba
only.'No other means of application
shall be acceptable.
There are two steps in online application
procedure:
Step 1. Register by filling your personal details
and pay fee by SBI-collect (online payment) Application fee is Rs.1200/- for OP
and OBC candidates and Rs.600/-for SC/ST. An application ID will be created.
Note down carefully this ID for subsequent steps. During fee submission through
SBI-Collect write "NOT AVAILABLE" in the box for CAT-2013 percentile
till result of CAT 2013 is declared.
Step 2. Online filling of application form: Use
application ID obtained in step I and date of birth to login. Before starting
the online filling of application form, please make sure that you have soft
copy of your passport size photograph in JPEG (up to 30 kb) format.
After login, follow the instructions for filling
application form.
Take print out the form, attach photocopy of all
required documents and send on the address given below:

Selection Procedure
Candidates will be short listed for Group
Discussion and Personal Interview (GD and PI) on the basis of CAT Percentile.
The MBA Admission Committee may decide the minimum CAT Percentile as short
listing criteria for different categories. Group Discussion (GD) and Personal
Interview (PI) will be conducted at the Institute. Final selection will be made
on the basis of CAT percentile and marks obtained in Group Discussion &
Personal Interview.
