Workshop on Official Statistics System in India
Kerala Statistical Institute, Thiruvananthapuram in
association with the Central Statistical Organization, Ministry of Statistics
& Programme Implementation, Government of India is organizing a one day
workshop on ‘Official Statistics System in India’ at Thiruvananthapuram on
January 20.
The workshop targeting the academics, researchers
and students involved in the use of official statistics in any manner aims at
providing an insight into the vast technical aspects of official statistics
system of the country including the system prevailing in Kerala and also the
data gaps in the present system.
K. M. Chandrasekhar, Vice Chairman, Kerala State
Planning Board, will inaugurate the workshop.
C.P. John, Member, Kerala State Planning Board will deliver the keynote
address. There will be sessions on ‘Official Statistics System in India’,
Official Statistics System in Kerala, Agricultural Statistics in Kerala and
data gaps in the present system.

General, Central Statistical Organization, M. Madhusoodhanan, Deputy Director
(General), National Sample Survey Organization, Kerala, A. N. Rajeev, Deputy
Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Kerala, R. Ramachandran, Director
of Economics & Statistics, Government of Kerala, PC Jain, Executive
Chairman, Kerala Statistical Institute, P. Kochunarayana Pillai, Executive
Director, Kerala Statistical Institute and Dr. P. Rajasekharan, Chief,
Agriculture Division, Kerala State Planning Board will present papers at the
different sessions.
