Application for admission to the REGULAR COURSE in FLOUR
MILLING TECHNOLOGY
Admission for 12 months
regular international course in Flour Milling Technology at International
School of Milling Technology (ISMT) scheduled for the year 2014 - 2015.
Central Food
Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), the pioneering organization in
Research and Development in the area of Food science and Technology and Human
Resource Development. CFTRI is ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 14001:2004 Organization
and ISO 17025:2005 Accredited Laboratory. As a part of human resource
development, an International School of Milling Technology was established as a
joint Indo-Swiss venture and Roller Flour Millers' Federation of India project
during 1981 to serve the needs of flour milling industry in India and other
developing countries with regard to training in flour milling technology.
So far 32 regular
courses in Flour Milling Technology have been completed and 33rd is in
progress. In these courses, 625 participants including 100 from some of the
other developing countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Ghana,
Guyana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Liberia, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman,
Pakistan, The Philippines, Srilanka, Syria, Suriname, Uganda, United Arab
Emirates, Vietnam, West Indies, Yemen, Zambia, have been trained. These trained
personnel are serving in different roller flour mills in India and in various
other countries. Since then, there have been qualitative changes in the working
of these mills as per the feedback received from the milling industry.
The requirements for
admission are as follows:
Eligibility: Bachelor's
Degree/Diploma in Technology/Engineering/Science or equivalent.
Those who are appearing
for final year exams may also apply and submit the marks card on or before 02nd
July 2014. Selection is based on marks/grades of the qualifying degree /
diploma examination. Weightage may be given for experience in flour milling /
sponsorship by flour milling industry for limited seats. If required an aptitude
test / interview will be conducted by CSIR-CFTRI, at Mysore.
The course fee is
Rs.90,000/- for Indian participant and U.S. $ 10,000 for participant from
abroad. The course fee indicated is exclusive of service tax which is
applicable as per Indian government regulations at the time of admission

form and the prospectus which should be accompanied by crossed Indian Postal
Order or Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- for Indian participant and U.S. $ 50 in the
form of international money order or bank draft for a foreign participant,
drawn in favour of “The Director, CFTRI, Mysore”. The application form can be
downloaded from the below link and sent along with the crossed Indian Postal
Order or Demand Draft as mentioned above. The application form complete in all
respects should reach “The Coordinator, ISMT, CFTRI, Mysore-570 020, India, on or before 02nd
July 2014. Candidates selected for the course will be intimated
about their selection.
