Ph.D Admission Notice 2014

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar has invited applications from Indian Nationals for admission to Ph.D. programme-2014 in the following areas:

1. Antibiotic resistance, biofilm and bacterial pathogenesis

2. Development of novel promoter with enhanced activity

3. Genetics and molecular analysis of inherited disorders

4. Genomic instability and diseases

5. Drug design and discovery, Bioinformatics

6. Vascular biology and tumour angiogenesis

7. Vascular Immunology: Inflammation and cancer

8. Immuno-genomics and systems biology

Essential Qualification:

(a) Candidates should have passed M.Sc. (any branch of science), M. Tech., M. Pharm., M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification with minimum 60% marks (or equivalent grade point).

(b) Candidates should have qualified in CSIR/UGC-JRF or ICMR-JRF or DBT-JRF or DST-INSPIRE or DBT-BINC. They should have qualified in these examinations not earlier than June, 2013.

OR

Candidates who have qualified only for lectureship in CSIR/UGC are also eligible to apply. They should have qualified in these examinations not earlier than June, 2013.

OR

Candidates who have qualified GATE (40% or above) are also eligible to apply, provided they have passed the masters exam not earlier than June, 2013

OR

GPAT (40% or above) are also eligible to apply, provided they have passed the masters exam not earlier than Jan, 2013.

Candidates, who were interviewed for the Ph.D. programme in the last two rounds (August, 2013 and March, 2014) are not eligible to apply.

The upper age limit of the candidate should be below 28 years as of 30th June, 2014. Age relaxation will be given for five years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/women/PH and three years in case of OBC (as approved by Govt. of India) candidates.

Application Fees :

Applicants except SC/ST candidates are required to send a non-refundable D.D. for Rs.500/- in favour of ?Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar? payable at Bhubaneswar along with duly filled-in application form by the date mentioned below.

Director, ILS reserves the right to withdraw the procedure without assigning any reasons thereof.
