Post Basic BSc Nursing Admission Notice 2014-2015

State Institute of Medical Education and Technology [SI-MET), has invited applications for the admission to Professional Degree Course-2014 in Post Basic BSc Nursing under its Nursing Colleges at Thrippunithura, Ernakulum Dist. (Ph. 0484-2780688), Mundur, Palakkad Dist. (Ph. 0491-2833011) and Karimbam P.O, Kannur Dist (0460-2200813) for the Academic Year 2014-15.

Academic Eligibility:

a. Candidate should have passed +2/Equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. They should have also passed the qualifying examination ie General Nursing and Midwifery Course, from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and concerned State Councils with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted.

b. Candidates shall have obtained registration with the Kerala Nurses and Mid-wives Council and copy of the registration certificate is to be submitted at the time of submission of application. Candidates who have studied outside Kerala shall have to submit copy of the registration certificate of the concerned nursing council of the state from where they have qualified, along with their application and shall have to produce their registration certificate in original obtained from Kerala State Nursing Council at the time of admission.

Age:

The upper age limit for candidate shall be 48 years as on the last date for submission of application.

Self-attested copy of relevant page of school record namely SSLC/ICSE/CBSE certificate showing date of Birth/Copy of the birth certificate from appropriate authority should be furnished along with the application as proof of age.

How to Apply:

Merit seats are filled up by LBS list. There will be separate application forms for

(i) Management seats (40%) and (ii) NRI quota seats (10%). The candidates applying for Management quota /NRI quota should apply to SI-MET, in the prescribed application form issued by the SI-MET. Separate application fee should be remitted for the application forms, for Management quota seats and for NRI seats. If there is vacant NRI seats the same will be allocated to Management quota.

Issue of application form and prospectus : The application forms and Prospectus can be obtained from the following offices of SI-MET on all working hours on payment of Rs. 500/- directly or by post by sending DD for Rs.550/-, drawn in favour of the “Director, SI-MET” payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

The application and prospectus can also be downloaded from the website www.simet.in  and submit the filled up application with a DD of Rs. 550/- drawn in favour of "the Director, SI-MET" payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Filled up applications should be sent to "The Director, SI-MET, Pallimukku, Pettah P.O, Thiruvanathapuram-695024 or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Colleges under SI-MET" on or before 16.06.2014; 5 pm.

 For NRI candidates relationship certificate mentioned in clause 2.2.c

 Service experience certificate for nurses working in Government (state, central, G.H, PHCs) for the purpose of weight age marks vide reference to experience
