Common Entrance Test-2015
Applications have been invited from eligible
candidates of Karnataka including the wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants
for registration for the "Common Entrance Test-2015" for admissions to
First Year professional courses for the seats to be notified by the Government
in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka for the
academic year 2015-16.
Candidate must appear for the Common Entrance Test
conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, for PCB subjects in case of
admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy
& Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of admission to Engineering /
Technology courses.
ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY:
(a) For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant
should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with
Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of
the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate
in the PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) group and should secure a minimum of
50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case
of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward
Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of
eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group both in Qualifying
Examination and Common Entrance Test.
(b) For Ayurveda / Homeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy
& Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th
std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional
subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a
minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB group irrespective of marks
obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to
Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A,
2B, 3A and 3B),the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of
marks in aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination.
(c) For Engineering / Technology courses, the
applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent
examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology
/ Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study
and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects,
irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates
belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes
(Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of
eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the
qualifying examination.
(d) For Architecture course, the applicant should
have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with
Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% of
marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination (45% of
marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and
Other Backward Classes) and should compulsorily appear for NATA (National
Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it. (Including Scheduled
Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes)
(e) B.Sc. (Agriculture), B.Sc. (Forestry), B.Sc.
(Sericulture), B.Sc. (Agri. Biotech), B.Sc. (Horticulture), B.H.Sc., (Home
Science), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Diary Technology), B.F.Sc (Fisheries
Science), B.Tech (Food Science & Tech), B.Sc. (Ag. Marketing and
CoOperation), B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering):
Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics,
Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects.
(f) Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal
Husbandry (B.V.Sc. &A.H.):
Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std. and obtained an
aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
(g) B.Pharm: Pass in 2nd PUC/ 12th Std/ Equivalent
exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or physics, Chemistry and mathematics
and a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregrate in PCB or PCM subjects. (40% for
SC/ST, Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) OR pass in Diploma in pharmacy
Examination from an instution approved by the Pharmacy examination from an
institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the
Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST, Category-1,
2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)
(h) 2nd Year B.Pharm (Lateral Entry): Pass in
Diploma in pharmacy Examination from an instution approved by the Pharmacy
examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under
Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% marks (40% for
SC/ST, Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)
i) Pharm-D : Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std/
equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects OR Pass in
Diploma in pharmacy Examination from an instution approved by the Pharmacy
examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under
Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act
HOW TO APPLY:
Inside India:
The students have to first enter the details Online
on KEA website www.kea.kar.nic.in wef 30-01-2015.
Last date to enter application details Online is
02-03-2015
After completion of entry of all the details,
applicants shall recieve an application no. and password to their mobile/email.
Using the same, candidates have to print the
challan copy and have to pay the requesite fee in any of the respective bank
branches (State Bank of Mysore, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India, Syndicate
Bank, Axis Bank or computerised Post Office). The bank/Post office will retain
a copy of the Challan (Bank Copy) and hand over the remaining two copies of the
Challan to the students.
Last date to pay the fees is 04-03-2015.
Cost of the brochure is Rs.650 (Rs.500/- for
Scheduled Castes/Tribes/Category-1) for Karnataka candidates and Rs. 750/- in
case of candidates residing outside Karnakata and within the country.
Further Students (Inside Karnataka) have to
handover the Challan (KEA Copy) to the concerned School/Principal to obtain the
brochure on or after 20-03-2015. Candidates outside Karnataka will recieve the
Brochure by post.
Outside India:
Candidates of Karnataka Origin residing outside the
state of Karnataka including Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadigas and other
eligible candidates may send a DD in facour of "The Executive Director,
Karnataka Examinations Authority, bangalore, payable at Bangalore for Rs.
5000/-, by post included with the copy of the final print out of Application to
Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Malleshwaram, 18th Cross,
Sampige Road, Bangalore-560 012 so that the same reach on or before 04-03-2015.
Dowloading the admission tickets can be done on or
after 15-04-2015
