All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT)-2015


Online applications are invited from Indian Nationals for All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT)-2015 to be conducted by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) for filling up 15% of All India Quota seats in Veterinary Colleges in India (except from the State of Jammu & Kashmir) for admission to 1st year of BVSc & AH course for academic session 2015-2016.

Date and Venue of Examination: Saturday, the 20th June, 2015 (Time 2.00 to 5.00 pm) at the (tendative) centers (cities): Agartala,  Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Lakshadweep, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Port Blair, Puducherry, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Thiruvananthapuram. ELIGIBILITY:       
(i)  The candidates should be Indian Nationals (except from the State of Jammu & Kashmir).
(ii) He/She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December, 2015. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st of January, 2016 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT.
The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 1st December 2015. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the Candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes / Other Backward Classes.
(iii)  Candidate must have passed any of the following qualifying examinations:

Qualifying Examinations:
The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
OR
The Intermediate Examination in Science from a recognized University / Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English as a core course.
He/She has passed the qualifying examination with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as core course or an examination equivalent to intermediate Science examination of an Indian University / Board recognised by the Association of Indian Universities taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in each of these subjects and English.

A candidate under General Category for admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course must have passed in each of these subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of these subjects, at the qualifying examination. Admission of students to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course shall be made only on the basis of his/ her merit in the competitive entrance examination. No other merit / weightage shall be considered for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course.

In respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / the Scheduled Tribes or other special category of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for general category. Where the seats reserved for the Scheduled Caste and the Scheduled Tribes students in any State cannot be filled for want of requisite number of candidates fulfilling the minimum requirement prescribed by the State, then such vacancies shall be filled up on All India basis with students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes getting not less than the minimum prescribed pass percentage.

Physical Disability:
A candidate shall not be allowed admission to B.V.Sc. & A. H. degree course including those admitted under 15% received quota of VCI if he/she suffer disabilities in physical fitness as Listed below:-
a.  Disability of total body including disability of chest/spine more than 50%
b.  Disability of lower limb of more than 50%
c.  Disability of upper limb
d.  Visually handicapped candidates and those with hearing disability,
e.  Candidates with progressive diseases like myopathies etc.
f.   Disabilities which otherwise would interfere in the performance of duties of a veterinarian.

(i)  Students from the State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, as the State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984 in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
(ii) A candidate who is taking the qualifying          examination prior to the AIPVT  or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the      examination       but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as per the Minimum Standard of Veterinary Education - Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations. 2008 on or before 30th June, 2015 and submit the documentary proof during counselling, if selected.
An All India merit list of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the AIPVT-2015 and candidates shall be admitted to seats under 15% All India Quota from the said list only as per the reservation policy

HOW TO APPLY:
(i)   Candidates can apply ONLY ONLINE
 ii)  On-line submission of application may be made by accessing the website www.aipvt.vci.nic.in
(iii) Online Application Form cannot be withdrawn once it is submitted successfully.
(iv)  The Candidate is NOT required to submit printout of the Confirmation Page to the VCI.

FEES PAYABLE:
For General / OBC : Rs. 1500/-
ForSC/ST/PH :    Rs. 750/-
Service/ Processing charges & service Taxes is to be paid by the candidate, as applicable.

STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED TO APPLY ONLINE:
Step 1:  Download the Information Bulletin and read it carefully to ensure your eligibility to appear at the examination.
Step 2:  Read the instructions for applying online given in the Information Bulletin and keep entire information ready including scanned images of       Photograph, Signature, thumb impression and self-declaration (in the case of candidates belonging to J&K) in JPG format only.
Step 3:  Fill the Online Application Form and upload Scanned Images of Photograph, Signature, thumb impression and self-declaration (self-declaration is required in the case of candidates belonging to J&K only).
Step 4:  Pay Examination Fee by Debit/ Credit card or e-Challan.
Step 5:  Download the Confirmation Page and keep the same in safe custody along with proof of remittance of fees for future reference and records.

Note: While submitting the online application form, the candidate is required to mention only his/her own or parent's mobile number (only one mobile no. and one e-mail ID are valid for one application) as all information/communication will be sent by the VCI on registered mobile number and e-mail ID

Last date for successful final transaction of fee applicable for online application registered on or before 14-05-2015: By 16-05-2015 (upto working hours of the banks)
Downloading / Printing of Admit Cards from Council’s website:  29-05-2015
Date of Examination       :  20-06-2015
Declaration of Result on Council’s website :  By 1st week of July, 2015
