Admission Procedure and Instructions for the Applicants

A. Admission Procedure:-

1) Eligibility:-
• Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM): Graduate in any discipline from a recognized Indian University can apply for the PGDM programme.

• Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Health Care & Pharmaceutical Management (PGDM(HCPM)): Candidates who have passed B.Pharma, B.Sc.(Biology, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Life Sciences and Bio-Technology), B.E. (Bio-Medical, Bio-Technology) are eligible to apply.

Candidates appearing for final year degree examination can also apply. However, if selected, they will have to produce the proof of completion of their graduation before 31st October, 2009 failing which their admission will be cancelled and entire fee paid by them will be forfeited.

2) Admission Test:-
• PGDM candidates:- Candidates who have appeared in one of the following written aptitude tests are eligible to apply:- CAT (November, 2008), XAT (2009), ATMA (2009), MAT (September-2008 or December-2008) and MH-CET 2009.
(IIMs or any other agency conducting the above tests have no role in the selection process of IES).
• PGDM(HCPM) candidates:- If a candidate applying for PGDM(HCPM) programme has not appeared in any of the above written tests, he/she can appear for IES written test at the time of attending interview.

3) Application:- Applicant should apply online. Before filling the online application form they should go through the instructions thoroughly. After submitting the form online the candidate will be given a registration reference number which they should preserve for future transactions. Application fees of Rs.1,100/- payable through Demand Draft drawn in favour of "IES-MCRC autonomous", payable in Mumbai should reach us before the last date specified in the brochure. Applicant should write the registration reference number behind the DD/PO. No application processing fee or admission processing fee is payable. Application Forms will be available on the Institute website from 24th March 2009 to 20thApril 2009

The completed application forms should be submitted latest by 21st April 2009.

4) Selection:-
• Candidates will be called for Micro Presentation (MP) and Personal Interview (PI) based on their written aptitude Test score.

• Short-listed candidates for MP & PI will be intimated by email. Candidates can also check the website of the Institute. The Personal Interviews and Micro Presentations will be conducted in Mumbai in the first/second week of May,2009. The exact dates will be communicated to the candidates.

• Final selection will be based on the composite score in written aptitude test, past academic performance, micro presentation and interview. There will be weightage for work experience too.

• Selected candidates will have to pay the entire fee within eight days from the date of intimation sent to them, failing which the seat will be offered to the next candidate in merit.

• 15% of the total seats in PGDM are reserved for IES Management.

5) Cancellation of Admission:- For any reason if a candidate decides to cancel his/her admission after payment of fee, then the refund will be as per AICTE rules if the refund application is received till 13th June, 2009. No fee will be refunded if application for cancellation of admission is received after 13th June,2009 and the entire amount paid by the candidate will be forfeited.

6) Fee:-
• PGDM 1st year:Rs.2,00,000/- (including refundable deposit Rs.5,000/-) 2nd year:Rs.1,90,000/- plus Rs.500/- towards membership of Alumni Association

• PGDM (Health Care & Pharmaceuticals Management) 1st year:Rs.1,80,000/- (including refundable deposit Rs.5,000/-) 2nd year : Rs.1,70,000/- plus Rs.500/- towards membership of Alumni Association As part of the fee the students are given a laptop computer and a set of select text books in the first year.

7) Scholarships :-
IES Management offers limited number and amount of scholarships to deserving candidates on the principle of merit-cum-means. The minimum amount of scholarship would be Rs.50,000/- p.a. and the maximum amount would be to the extent of annual tuition fee. A separate notification will be issued by the College in this regard and the decision of the management would be final.

8) Hostel facilities:-
IES provides limited hostel facility on first come first served basis. The hostel is located at a distance of around 3-4 km. from the institute. The programme fee mentioned above does not include hostel fee.

9) Information on Micro Presentation:-
Candidates will be required to give a small presentation of five minutes on any topic of their choice. Presentation will be followed by a two minutes question answer session. Candidates can give presentation with or without LCD overhead projector. Arrangement will be made for the projector, Micro presentation will be used for assessing communication skills, presentation skills and subject knowledge of the candidates.

10) Important dates:-
Sale of application forms starts _24thMarch2009 Last date for sale of application form is 20th April 2009 Last date for submission of completed application forms is 21st April 2009 Interviews and Micro Presentation will be in the first/ second week of May 2009. Commencement of classes will be on Monday, 15th June 2009 (tentatively).

11) Information on IES Management College:-
Before submitting the application form the candidates must refer the Institute website at www.ies.edu/management to get complete information on the Institute including Programme Structure, Infrastructure, Faculty, Placements and Academic
Infrastructure.

B. Instructions to apply online:-
1) Follow the link "Admission Form: 2009-11 Batch" on the home page of "ies.edu/management" website.
2) Fill in all the details in the form properly as per the instructions given.
3) Applicant's name and date of birth should be as per mentioned in his/her 10th standard certificate.
4) All communication details, viz. address, landline telephone number, mobile number and email address should be clearly written as most of the communication will be through email.
5) To enter dates, candidates are advised to use the calendar given in the form.
6) Candidate should mention his / her percentile of all the tests he/she has appeared. If percentile is not available then composite score should be given.
7) "Details of education" must be mentioned clearly as this is one of the criteria to prepare the admission merit list. Students should mention the marks/GPA, semester or year wise as applicable. The final year/semester appearing students should mention only up to the last semester/year which they have cleared. In case of any error or wrong information, the candidate himself/herself will be responsible and his admission will be cancelled. In case if College/University gives grades instead of marks, then student should write their GPA instead of percentage of marks. They should also write the maximum GPA out of which they have scored (eg: 4.25 GPA out of 5 or 7.5 GPA out of 10). Against 'Bachelor's Degree' column the applicant should write the title of the degree viz. BE / B.Tech./ B.Com./ B/Sc., etc.
8) Outstation candidates should clearly mention about his/her requirement of hostel facility. Also he/she must give complete and correct name and address of the local guardian.
9) Candidates applying online should write instrument number i.e. DD/PO number, instrument date i.e. DD/PO date and bank details on the form for payment of application fee.
10) The DD/PO reaching late will not be accepted.
11) Prospective applicant will become a confirmed applicant only after IES receives the DD/PO towards the application fees.
12) Candidates, who buy the application form from institute office against the payment of cash, should select "Paid By Cash" option against Bank Name, mention the college cash receipt number in the instrument number field and cash receipt date in the instrument date field in the payment details of application form.
13) Candidates should send three passport size photographs. They must write the registration reference number which they receive after submitting the form online behind the photographs as well as on the reverse side of the DD/PO. It should be addressed to:

14) Preserve the "registration reference number" for the future correspondence.
15) Candidates should not submit any enclosure with DD/PO. All documents shall be verified only if the candidate is provisionally admitted. However, at the time of admission (payment of fee), if any document or information is found to be incorrect, the application will not be considered.
16) Incomplete form or form without payment of application fee will be rejected.
