(Approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh)

National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research, Chandigarh (formerly TTTI, Chandigarh) is one of the four national institutes established by MHRD, Govt of India for the improvement of technical education in the Northern region in particular and the country in general. To achieve its stated objectives, the institute undertakes the spectrum of activities: Education and Training Programmes; Curriculum Development; Instructional Material Development; Research and Development; Extension Services; Consultancy in Technical Education and Technology areas. Under the activity Education and Training, the institute offers the following Regular (full time) and Modular industry oriented and practice based Master of Engineering Programmes.

2. Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Technology

3. Master of Engineering in Construction Technology & Management

4. Master of Engineering in Computer Science & Engineering

Number of seats, Regular – 25*, Modular – 35*

5. Master of Engineering in Instrumentation and Control

Number of seats, Regular – 23*, Modular – 35*

6. Master of Engineering in Electronics & Communication Engineering

Number of seats, Regular – 17*, Modular – 35*


*Increase in intake on account of implementing CEI Act, 2006 for second year (2009-2010) subject to approval by AICTE, New Delhi

Full time sponsored Polytechnic/Engineering College Teachers, Officials of State Directorates and the Board of Technical Education, working professionals from Industry/Universities/Other organizations are eligible for admission. However, general candidates are also eligible, in case above category candidates are not available at the time of counseling. Their admission will depend upon their eligibility as per institute norms. Prospectus with application forms can be obtained (may also be downloaded from our website on or after 01.04.2009; such applications must accompany a demand draft of Rs 500/-) from the institute either on payment of Rs 500/- or by sending a crossed DD of Rs. 550/- in favour of Director, NITTR, Chandigarh along with a self addressed envelope of 25×20 cms. Separate application is to be submitted along with fee for each programme.


Session for Modular Programmes will start from 07.06.2009

Last date of receipt of applications is 04.05.2009

Merit list of the candidates will be loaded on the institute website for Modular Programmes on 22.05.2009

Counseling for these Modular Programmes will be held on 29.05.2009 at 10.00 a.m. in the institute auditorium

Session for Regular Programmes will start from 15.07.2009.

Last date of receipt of applications is 15.06.2009

Merit list of the candidates will be loaded on the institute website for Regular Programmes on 03.07.2009

Counseling for these Regular Programmes will be held on 13.07.2009 at 10.00 a.m. in the institute auditorium.


The requisite fee for the above Programmes will have to be deposited on the spot (either cash or DD) failing which the seat will be allotted to next candidate.

The institute reserves the right of admission to any candidate and the decision of Institute authorities for admissions will be final.
