ADMISSION 2009-2010

ME (Manufacturing Technology)

Admission Procedure:

The merit of the applicants will be prepared separately on the following basis:

50% weightage to be given to the marks obtained in the degree level qualifying examination

20% weightage to be given to the teaching/industrial/research experience gained after Engineering Graduation Degree. Two marks per year of experience will be awarded with a maximum of 20 marks.

10% weightage to be given for attending the short-term courses sanctioned by QIP/ISTE/AICTE/IMPACT or any other such courses or workshops conducted by QIP Centre of not less than one week. 3% marks for one week, 6% marks for 2 weeks and 10% marks for 3 or more weeks duration short term courses will be awarded.

5% weightage to be given for publication of research paper in journals.

5% weightage to be given for significant contribution in Community Development Programme.

5% weightage to be given for preparing the monograph/book writing /preparing the course materials/preparing the course manuals.

5% weightage to be given for the consultancy done for the industry.

Admission to MTech/ME Programmes at NITTTR Chandigarh under QIP (Poly) scheme and Regions of the polytechnic teachers are as per the AICTE Norms & Regulations.

Candidates admitted under QIP (Poly) Scheme will be eligible to receive a scholarship of Rs 2,500/- per month and a contingency grant of Rs 3000/- per annum. The details regarding the admission under this scheme is notified every year by AICTE, New Delhi as well as on their website in due course of time.

Applications must accompany a demand draft of Rs. 500/-) from the Institute either on payment of Rs. 500/- or by sending a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 550/- in favour of Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh along with a self addressed envelope of 25x20 cms. Separate application is to be submitted along with fee for each programme.

The requisite fee lor the above Programmes will have to be deposited on the spot (either cash or Demand Draft) failing which the seat will be allotted to next candidate.

The institute reserves the right ol admission to any candidate and Ihe decision ol Institute authorities for admissions will be final.

Education and Training, the institute offers the following Regular (full time) and Modular industry oriented and practice based Master of Engineering Programmes.

Closing Date: 04 May 2009

Session for Modular Programmes will start from 07.06.2009. Last date of receipt of applications is 04.05.2009. Merit list of the candidates will be loaded on the institute website for Modular Programmes on 22.05.2009. Counseling for these modular Programmes will be held on 29.05.2009 at 10.00 a.m. in the institute auditorium.

Session for Regular Programmes will start from 15.07.2009. Last date of receipt of applications is 15.06.2009. Merit list of the candidates will be loaded on the institute website for Regular Programmes on 03.07.2009. Counseling for these Regular Programmes will be held on 13.07.2009 at 10.00 a.m. in the institute auditorium.
