The Programme is aimed at attracting talented, motivated and dedicated students to enjoy the charm and beauty of Mathematics. The Programme is being conducted for the students of the Universities in Kerala. Foundations, Analysis, Algebra, and Linear Algebra & Geometry of the B.Sc (Mathematics) level are the areas intended to be included in the Programme. The faculty will be active Mathematicians with commitment to teaching, some of them having experience in the conduct of MT & TS programme. The hallmark of the programme is to develop the concepts through problem solving, stimulating participants to discover them. Those who have just completed the B.Sc Final Year and are interested to pursue Mathematics at a higher level are eligible.
Selection will be purely on merit, based on consistently good academic records and a recommendation letter from a Teacher closely acquainted with the candidate.
The venue of the programme will be Calicut University Campus. Students are expected to stay at the campus. The selected candidates will be given TA, free boarding and lodging during the programme. They will also be provided with free study material. There is a provision for the teachers to visit the programme apart from participating as a tutor. Local hospitality will be available for such visitors.
The application consists of candidate's academic record and a recommendation letter from one of the teachers, in the prescribed proforma, which should reach 'The Director, MTS & N Programme, Department of Mathematics, University of Calicut, Calicut University (PO)-673 635' latest by 20th March 2010.
The proforma of Application and Recommendation Forms and the Application Forms for Teachers can be had from The Head, Department of Mathematics of the College where the candidate is studying. They can also be downloaded from www.universityofcalicut.info All participants who attend the programme for the entire period will receive a certificate of participation.
