B.Tech Admissions 2011-2012


Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Ahmedabad, has invited applications for admission to the various 4 Year B.Tech Programmes commencing in July 2011.


School of Petroleum Technology offers B Tech in Petroleum Technology while School of Technology offers B Tech in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial & Mechanical Engineering.


Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st October 1986 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th or 10+2 Certificate, as issued by the Board/University, only will be taken as authentic. Candidates must produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling.


Those who have appeared at All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2011) conducted by CBSE and passed Higher Secondary Examination (or its equivalent as per the list given below) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply. Applicant should have passed with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST candidate) in theory of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.


List of Examinations treated as equivalent to the Higher Secondary Examination
(i) The 10+2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, including Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
(ii) Intermediate Science or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.
(iii) Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
(iv) General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
(v) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
(vi) Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
(vii) H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
(viii) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.


Applicant should have the mark sheet and certificate of Higher Secondary Examination (or its equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or that of one of the qualifying examinations and the AIEEE-2011 Score Card for applying for admission.


Application for B Tech can be submitted on-line till 6 pm on 31st May, 2011, at the appropriate link at http://www.pdpu.ac.in/


The print out of the duly filled in online application form must be sent with Demand Draft of Rs. 1,200/- drawn in favour of ‘Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University’, payable at Ahmedabad to reach the ‘Convener, Admission Committee (B. Tech.), Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Raisan, Gandhinagar, Gujarat-382007’ latest by 7th June 2011.


Application can also be submitted in the prescribed form which will be available up to 31st May, 2011, at selected branches of Oriental Bank of Commerce across India (see the link http://www.pdpu.ac.in/spt/downloads/Selected_Branches_of_OBC.pdf for the list of branches) on payment of Rs. 1,200/-


The Last date for submitting filled application, is 31st May, 2011.


Civil and Mechanical have 120 seats each while Petroleum, Electrical, Chemical and Industrial Engineering have 60 seats each.


50 % Seats are reserved for Gujarat State Students. Those who have passed the qualifying examination with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST candidate) in theory of Science subjects from the Schools located in the Gujarat State and have appeared in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi fall under Gujarat State Students Category. Of the seats, 7, 15 and 3 percent seats are reserved for SC, ST and PH categories respectively.


50 % Seats are reserved for students from All over India (including Gujarat State). Those who have passed the qualifying examination with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST candidate) in theory of Science subjects examination from the Schools located in India including Gujarat State and have appeared in the All India Engineering Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi will fall under All India Category. Of this SC, ST and PH categories have 15, 7.5 and 3 percent reservation.
