Online MSc International Environmental Management 2012
Universities of Madras and Northampton have invited applications for admission to Online Masters degree programme in Environmental Management commencing in March 2012. The Masters programme is supported by the Higher Education strand of the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI).
The course has a modular structure with each module covering specific areas including:
A. Research & Analytical Methods
B. Climate Change and Risk Management
C. Environmental Management Policy and Control
D. Waste Management in India
E. Pollution Abatement Technologies
F. Geoinformatics
G. Implementing Sustainability
H. Environmental Psychology
I. Applied Project
J. International Research Thesis (MSc only)
Entry Requirements:
The course is particularly designed for individuals already working in local government or NGOs in the urban sector, environmental and community development sector, wishing to develop their understanding of sustainability as conceptual and practical tool. The eligibility requirement is a good Honors / Bachelor degree from a recognized Institution of Higher Education / University.
Preference will be given to the relevant professional experience. The qualifying degree will normally be in a recognized environmental science discipline such as physical geography, biology, environmental chemistry, geology, engineering or a related area. Those with degree in other social science subjects including law will also be considered, according to the interests and background of the candidate. Competence in English, computer and internet access are required.

Fees:
A special fee of Rs.2, 00,000 (over Two Year’s period) applies to the Masters course in International Environmental Management.
The course fee can be paid the candidate in FOUR equal installments as follows:
1st installment of Rs.50,000 (12.03.2012)
2nd installment of Rs.50,000 (30.08.2012)
3rd installment of Rs.50,000 (28.02.2013)
4th and final installment of Rs.50,000 (30.08.2013)
Payment of Tuition Fees:
Tuition Fees can be paid in the form of Demand Draft from any nationalized banks drawn in favour of The Registrar, University of Madras, Chennai – 600 005 payable at State Bank of India, University of Madras Branch ( Branch code: 02234).
