Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad has invited applications for admission to following courses of Academic Year 2012-13.

* PhD Programmes 

* MTech (Part Time/sponsored)

* MSc (Mathematics and Scientific Computing) 

* Master of Social Work

(1) Eligibility for PhD :

* PhD in Engineering :

The applicant must have Master's Degree in Engineering / Technology with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CPI. For SC/ST candidates eligibility in specified minimum marks is relaxed to 55% or equivalent.

OR

Applicant with Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with minimum 75% or equivalent CPI (70% marks or equivalent for SC/ST candidates) will only be considered for admission.

OR

Applicant with Master's degree in Applied Sciences or any appropriate discipline with First Class and NET / UGC / CSIR / GATE or any other equivalent qualifying score shall be considered for admission. However, in case of exceptionally qualified candidate the requirement of NET / UGC / CSIR etc may be waived off, but such candidates will not be entitled to get fellowship.

* PhD in Management :

Applicants must have Master's Degree in Management / Technology / Engineering / Economics / Commerce / Science / Computer Applications / Social Science with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

OR

A qualified Chartered Accountant having minimum three years' professional experience as practicing Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 60% marks for both graduation, as well as CA examination.

OR

Applicants with Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent CPI (70% or equivalent for SC/ST candidates) will be considered for admission.

In case of SC/ST candidates, eligibility in specified minimum marks will be relaxed by 5% over the minimum prescribed percentage in the eligibility criteria.

* PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) :

Applicants must have a Master's degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 60% Marks or equivalent. For SC/ST candidates eligibility in specified minimum marks is relaxed to 55%.

OR

Applicants with Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in an allied field of HSS with marks not below 75% or equivalent (70% marks or equivalent for SC/ST candidates).

* PhD in GIS Cell :

MTech or equivalent in GIS & Remote Sensing / Civil Engineering / Comp. Sc. & Engineering / Information Technology / Agricultural Engineering / Mining Engineering or MSc degree in GIS & Remote Sensing / Applied Geology / Geophysics / Geography / Environmental Science / Computer Science or degree in Master of Computer Application. For SC/ST candidates eligibility in specified minimum marks is relaxed to 55%.

(2) Eligibility for MTech :

* MTech. (Sponsored) Candidates :

(i) Candidates who have Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy / Architecture / Planning or equivalent from AICTE approved institutions with at least 60% marks or equivalent CPI (55% or equivalent for SC/ST candidates) will be eligible for admission. Preference will be given to those candidates who are GATE qualified. Sponsored candidates will not be eligible to receive scholarship, even if they are admitted based on GATE Score.

(ii) Candidates must have a minimum of Two Years' Full-Time work experience as on the date of registration in a registered firm / company / industry / educational and research institution / any government department or government autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought.

* MTech (Part Time) :

working professionals who are working in and around Allahabad City, up to a maximum limit of 50 KM from Allahabad. Candidates with minimum 2 years of working experience at the time of registration are eligible for admission. A minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CPI for MTech is mandatory. For SC/ST candidates eligibility in specified minimum marks is relaxed to 55% or equivalent

(3) Eligibility for MSc Mathematics & Scientific Computing :

Three years' BSc Degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade (55% or equivalent for SC/ST candidates) with Mathematics as one of the main subject.

(4) Eligibility for Master of Social Work :

Graduation in any stream with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade (55% or equivalent for SC/ST candidates).

Application Procedure :

Eligible candidates are required to download the application form from : www.mnnit.ac.in Duly filled-in and signed application form along with a demand draft for Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST) in favour of Director, MNNIT payable at Allahabad must reach The Admission Cell, Office of the Dean (Academic), Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad – 211004 latest by 25 May, 2012 till 5:30 PM.

Candidates willing to apply for more than one programme in different departments has to apply separately with a demand draft for Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST) for each programme.
