Nani Palkhivalae Arbitration Centre (NPAC) Arbitration Training Programme 2012

Nani Palkhivalae Arbitration Centre (NPAC)

Association for International Arbitration

Arbitration Training Programme

The Nani Palkhivalae Arbitration Centre (NPAC) and the Association for International Arbitration are collectively conducting an advanced arbitration training programme on June 9,16, 23 and 30 in Chennai.

The NPAC is committed to developing a pool of well-trained arbitrators, in collaboration with like-minded institutions of international repute.

Arbitration is a legal, formal and private binding process through which disputes are resolved by an award made by an independent arbitral tribunal or panel. The composition of the latter is agreed by the parties or nominated by a court or a professional arbitration institution such as the NPAC. Under the' provisions of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, any educated person irrespective of their chosen profession can be appointed arbitrator. Experience has shown that arbitration by persons not well-versed in legal concepts could delay the process. There is a need for professionals to undertake courses such as this one so as to be aware of how arbitration could apply to their businesses, and how best to use it to advantage.

Arbitration programs are committed to making this an affordable time-bound process with a resolution within six to 12 months. The course will be conducted at the NPAC, 22 Karpa-gambal Nagar, Mylapore, Chennai.

The course fee is Rs. 10,000 (Rs. 5,000 for students)
