The Ph.D programs Full Time are offered in the following Departments
Ph.D: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, School of Management

Engineering Dept
Candidates who have obtained admission to M.Tech/M.S. programs through GATE score; or who have a valid GATE score (qualified in GATE-2011 or 2012) are eligible for admission to Ph.D program

Civil Engineering: B.Tech and M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate
For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate
Electrical Engineering: B.Tech and M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Mechanical Engineering: B.Tech and M.Tech / M.E. / M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate
For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Electronics and Communication Engineering: B.Tech and M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Metallurgical and Materials Engineering: B.Tech and M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Chemical Engineering: B.Tech and M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate
For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Computer Science and Engineering: B.Tech and M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent degree; or MCA and M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 in 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Few additional fellowships sponsored by M/s TCS with a fellowship of Rs 23,000/- per month are also available

Science Dept
Candidates with valid GATE/NET scores only are eligible for admission to Ph.D program in Science departments/English

Mathematics: B.Sc and M.Sc/M.Phil in Mathematics or equivalent degree (at all levels) with first class with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Physics: B.Sc and M.Sc/ M.Phil in Physics or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Chemistry: B.Sc and M.Sc/M.Phil in Chemistry or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

English: Any undergraduate degree (B.A./B.Com/B.Sc) and M.A./M.Phil in English or equivalent degree with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate
Candidates with M.A. or equivalent qualification are not eligible for institute fellowship

School of Management Dept

Candidates possessing MBA (admission through CAT/MAT/GMET score) and B.Tech/M.Tech in any branch of Engineering with a valid GATE/NET score; or M.Tech (admission through GATE score) in any branch of Engineering are eligible for admission to Ph.D program in School of Management

Candidates with a valid GATE/NET score only are eligible for the award of institute fellowship

Qualifications: B.Tech/M.Tech with MBA (2 years Full Time) from reputed Institute/University with first class (at all levels) with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate

For SC/ST candidates cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10 point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Candidates with GATE score greater than or equal to the cut off mark specified in the GATE score card for respective categories (OC/OBC/SC/ST only) are eligible for institute fellowship

The names of the shortlisted candidates called for and the dates of interview and/or written test will be available on website www.nitw.ac.in  after 28th November, 2012

Fellowship: The candidates selected for admission into Ph.D under Full Time program are eligible to receive institute fellowship

The tenure of a research fellowship is three years only

Candidates joining with Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto, Rs 18,000/- per month, for the first two years, Rs 20,000/- per month, in the third year

Candidates joining under TCS fellowship Rs 23,000/- per month

Candidates joining with a Master’s degree in Science (with a valid GATE/NET score) or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto Rs 16,000/- per month, for the first two years, Rs 18,000/- per month in the third year

Candidates with B.Tech and MBA (with a valid GATE score) Rs 16,000/- per month, for the first two years, Rs 18,000/- per month in the third year

The candidates will be selected through an institute entrance test and/or an interview

The candidates selected for admission for Ph.D under Full Time basis are required to stay on the campus only

Applications are not kept for sale at the institute
The filled in applications along with necessary documents and a crossed demand draft for Rs 600/- (Rs 300/- in the case of SC/ST candidates) towards registration fee drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology, Warangal, payable at SBH, NIT Warangal branch (Code No-2149) or SBI, Battala Bazar (Code No-07456) should reach Deputy Registrar, Academic Section, National Institute of Technology, Warangal-506021 on or before 21st November, 2012

Super scribe on the envelope application for admission to Ph.D in the department of________
The candidate is required to write on the reverse side of the demand draft his/her name and the program to which the application is being submitted
It is advised to send the application by registered post with acknowledgement due
The candidates who are employed and wish to do Ph.D under full time must enclose no objection certificate from the employer
Check whether the following documents are attached to the application form; demand draft with details; attested copy of SSC in support of date of birth; attested copy of intermediate/(10+2) certificate; attested copies of degree certificates and marks memos of the qualifying examinations; list of publications (if any); attested copy of the caste certificate (in case of SC/ST candidates); no objection certificate from the employer; photo being pasted on the application form; attested copy of the grade/rank card of GATE or NET or CAT or GMAT

Last date of submission of application is 21st November, 2012
