Human Resource Management (HRM)
In this
globalized era the manager’s ability to tap latent talents of the workforce is
definitely a much sought after skill-set. Out much acclaimed and respected HRM
programme trains future Human Resource managers to shape winning organizations.
Focusing primarily on employee relations, human resource management systems and
practices, legal framework, interpersonal and leadership skills the HRM course
offers a holistic formation including functional areas such as finance,
marketing, IT and operations management.
Business Management (BM)
Shaping
future business leaders as responsible and highly skilled managers is the
thrust of the BM programme. The rigorous training prepares value-based managers
with an integrated approach to decision-making. Drawing in on functional
disciplines such as Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing,
Production & Operations Management and Strategic Management the programme
trains enterprising manager for a sustainable future.
Global MBA
This
one-of-a-kind programme, offered in partnership with the Weatherhead School of
Management at Case Western Reserve University (USA) and Tongji University
(China) constitutes a diverse class of Indian, American and Chinese students.
Students will be taught by faculty drawn from each of the three partner schools
and spend a semester each in Shanghai, Cleveland and Jamshedpur.
Eligibility
(For HRM/BM/Global MBA) : Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years
duration or equivalent in any discipline. Those completing their final
examination by June examination by June 10, 2014 may also apply. Candidates
with an experience of 3 years or more will be given preference for Global MBA.
General Management Programme
The General
Management Program aims at augmenting the skill-sets and competencies of
practicing managers. Exposing them to recent trends, tools and techniques in
Management would prepare them to enhance performance. This 15 month, full time
AICTE recognized course incorporates a 3-month field based training in a
functional area.
Eligibility
: Graduates in any discipline from a recognized university in India/abroad with
at least 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience by March 31, 2014.
Candidates may apply either through XAT 2014 or GMAT score (taken between
December 01, 2011 and December 20, 2013). GMP interviews will take place during

Fellow Programme in Management
Residential Doctoral Programme
Primarily
aimed at training participants as faculty at premier Management Institutes,
Researchers or Consultants. This prestigious course carries a fellowship of Rs.
25,000 per month in the first two years and Rs. 30,000 per month in the

Eligibility
: Candidates should have Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline with
at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) with the Bachelor’s degree
(10+2+3 years)/equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST
candidates) obtained Or a professional qualification like CA/ICWA/CS with at
least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) Or BE/B.Tech degree or equivalent
with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and two years of relevant
work experience.

Xavier
Aptitude Test 2014 (XAT 2014), the national-level aptitude test for admission
to the various Management Programmes at over 100 Associate Member Institutes of
XAT (called the XAT Associate Member Institutes-XAMI), conducted by Xavier
Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshadpur, Jharkhand, on behalf of the XAMI,
will be held from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm on 5th January 2014.
The exam
centres are at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Berhampur, Bhopal,
Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi,
Goa, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu,
Jamshedpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna,
Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Surat, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum,
Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam in India and at Dubai,
Kathmandu.
XAT 2014
which will be paper and pen based, will have four sections, namely (i) Verbal
and Logical Ability (ii) Decision Making (iii) Quantitative Ability and Data
Interpretation (iv) General Knowledge.
The marks
of General Knowledge will not be used for determining the percentile and cut
off at first stage of selection. However it is used by XLRI and some other
Associate Member Institutes at the time of final selection. Some model
questions are given in Section E of the XAT Bulletin 2014 that can be
downloaded from http://xatonline.net.in/about.aspx.

Those
interested in admission to the Management Programmes at XLRI or any other XAT
Associate Member Institute have to register and apply separately for the academic
programmes of XLRI or the institutes of his/her choice.
For
admission to XLRI, applicant should have completed Bachelor's degree or
equivalent undergoing a course of minimum three years duration in any
discipline from a recognized university from India/abroad. Those completing
their final examination by June 10, 2014 may also apply. Other XAT Associate
Member Institutes may have a different cut off dates regarding the completion
of the final examination, which may be ascertained from the respective
institution.
Each
institution independently decides the weightages to be given for each of the
test components on the basis of its needs. XLRI does not play any role in
selection of the candidates in these institutes.
The last date for applying for XAT
2014 is 22nd November, 2013.
For
registering for XAT, applicant should visit http://xatonline.net.in/xatreg.aspx
and fill the preliminary information, enter a password of choice and submit it.
After submission of these details applicant will receive the XAT Id by email.
If the applicant does not receive the registration confirmation mail, with XAT
Id & Password, within 24 hours of signing up, applicant may check his/her
spam/junk folder just in case the confirmation email got delivered there
instead of the applicant’s inbox. In case the applicant is unable to locate the
email, he/she should mail to admissions@xatonline.net.in citing primary email
id.
Once the
registration confirmation mail is received, subsequent logins at the
registration link will have to be done using the XAT Id and password. Applicant
should login to XAT account and fill educational and other details and choose
the test city.
The fee for
XAT 2014 depends on the category of the applicant. The fee is Rs. 950 for
General/OBC applicants and Rs 650 for SC/ST applicants.
There are
three modes of payment, the online payment, payment by cash and payment by
Demand Draft. In the Online payment mode, applicant can pay the fee through
VISA/ Master Credit/ Debit Cards (American Express Card is inadmissible) or
through IDBI Net banking gateway, available only for IDBI account holders.
If the mode
of payment is ‘cash’, applicant has to take a print out of the XAT Pay-In-Slip
after making this option, visit nearest IDBI bank and make the payment. If the
payment is proposed to be made through Demand Draft, applicant has to get a DD
made in favour of ‘XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT’, payable at Jamshedpur. Those
paying the fee through Cash or DD should update the payment details in the
registration page. Only after this is done, the applicants will be allowed to
upload their photo and signature. After payment of Fee, applicant is required
to upload his/her scanned digital photograph and signature. The procedure for

The file
size of each of the photograph and signature should not be more than 50 KB. The
online application system will not allow uploading files larger than 50 KB and
they should be in .jpeg format. The file name of photograph and signature
should preferably be photo.jpeg and sign.jpeg respectively.
The
applicant then will have to print confirmation page. Applicant who have chosen
cash or DD as their payment mode have to send their DD or Pay-in-slip along
with the confirmation page to XAT office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East),
Jamshedpur- 831001 within fifteen days from the date of payment or issuance of
DD. Applicants who have made the payments through IDBI internet banking or
credit/debit cards are not required to send the Confirmation page to XAT
Office.
Candidates
can log in through their XAT id to check if their form has been received by the
XAT office. Applicant can download his/her admit card from
http://xatonline.net.in between December 18, 2013 and December 31, 2013. XAT
office will not be sending admit cards to any candidates.
Results
will be available on the website by 31st January 2014. The XAT Score Card
containing the performance of the candidate in XAT 2014 will be mailed
individually to all the candidates.

Applicants
should note that registration for XAT 2014 and appearing for XAT 2014 is the
preliminary step towards applying to any of the institutes. Applicants to
different institutes have to apply separately to each of the institutes of
their choice.
NRI/Foreign
candidates desirous of taking XAT 2014 may register for XAT 2014 as per the
regular process. Different associate member institutes have different criteria
for taking in NRI/Foreign candidates and applicants are required to check these
criteria from the respective associate member institutes websites.
In all
correspondence with XAT offices, applicant should quote his/her XAT Id.
XLRI Admissions
XLRI has
notified the admission to its Management Programmes through XAT 2014.
The
Programmes of XLRI are, PGDM (Business Management), PGDM (Human Resource
Management), PGDM (Global MBA), PGDM (General Management) and Fellow Programme
in Management.
For
admissions to XLRI, an applicant has to first register for XAT at
www.xatonline.net.in, obtain XAT ID and password, make the requisite payment
and complete the XAT registration procedure.
Those
desirous of admissions at XLRI should register for XLRI after registering and
completing the process for XAT 2014.
Registration for XLRI 2014 starts
on 2nd September 2013 and ends on 21st December, 2013.
For
registration for XLRI, applicant has to log on to www.xlri.edu
to register for XLRI programmes. Applicant
will have to choose the Interview City, Select the Programmes of XLRI one
wishes to be considered, strictly in order of priority.
The fee for XLRI application 2014 depends on
number of programme(s) applied for. For General candidates, the fee is Rs.
1050/- for one programme, Rs. 1650/- for two programmes, Rs. 1850/- for three
programmes, Rs. 2050/- for four Programmes and Rs. 2250/- for five programmes.
For SC/ST candidates, it is Rs. 750/-, Rs. 1200/-, Rs. 1400/-, Rs. 1600/- and
Rs. 1800/- respectively. SC/ST applicant should enclose the caste certificate
along with the confirmation page while sending it to Admission Office,XLRI, Jamshedpur,
failing which, their candidature will be invalid.
Applicant
should select the mode of payment -Online Payment Gateway, Cash Payment or
payment through Demand Draft. In online mode, the fee can be paid through
VISA/Master Credit/Debit Cards (American Express Card is inadmissible) or
through IDBI Net banking gateway for those having IDBI account.
If the
payment mode is chosen as ‘Cash’, the remittance has to be made after taking a
print out of the XAT Pay-In-Slip and then, visiting the nearest IDBI bank. In
case of Demand Draft option, the DD has to be taken in favour of ‘XLRI
Programmes’ payable at Jamshedpur.
Those
remitting fee by cash or DD, should update the payment details in the
registration page before proceeding to upload their photo and signature.
Applicant has to then print XLRI Confirmation Page. This, confirmation page
should be sent along with the payment proof/Pay-in-slip/DD to the Admission
Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001, within fifteen days
from the date of payment or issuance of DD. Applicant should enclose the photo
copies of educational certificates and caste certificate along with the
confirmation page.
The last
date for receiving XLRI Registration Confirmation Page at XLRI is 26th December 2013.

A complimentary copy will be sent to the
candidate.
Names of
short listed candidates for XLRI GD/PI will be declared on www.xlri.edu by January 31, 2014. The names of the candidates who
subsequently succeed in the selection interview and/or group discussions for
admission to XLRI will be intimated individually and also will be declared at
the same website.
Candidates
may also choose to apply through GMAT score obtained during December 1, 2011
and December 20, 2013 for some XLRI programmes. Indian applicants can only
apply for PGDM (GMP) and Global MBA programme through GMAT scores. Non Resident
Indians in addition to above programmes may also apply for HRM/BM/FPM
programmes using GMAT score secured during above mentioned period.
