NOTE:
i) The self-financing seats shall not be converted
into general seats. These can be increased/ decreased keeping in view the
availability of infrastructure and faculty.
ii) 70% of the total seats shall be reserved for
the domiciles of Himachal Pradesh and rest of 30% seats shall be filled on the
basis of merit at national level by the University itself.
iii) In case, any seat remains vacant in one
category i.e., HP or Open, the same shall be interchangeable.
iv) Out of five seats (three general seats + two
self-financing seats) in the Discipline of Fruit Science, two seats are
earmarked under Exchange Programme with the Punjab Agricultural University
(PAU), Ludhiana. The students admitted against these earmarked seats shall
study a few courses of first semester of their degree programme at Punjab
Agricultural University, Ludhiana. These students will register and shall pay
the prescribed fee including hostel fee in this University and Punjab
Agricultural University, Ludhiana will not charge any fee from them. They will
be provided accommodation in the hostel at Ludhiana without additional charges
but will have to bear expenses for their own living.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION
a) M Sc degree in concerned discipline with
research thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the programme in the
concerned discipline from a recognized University under ICAR system with an
OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or its equivalent under course credit system or at least 65%
marks in annual system of examination (relaxable by 5% in case of SC/ ST/
Inservice candidates).
Proviso: For the disciplines of Forest Genetic
Resources, Silviculture, Agroforestry, Wood Science & Technology, Medicinal
& Aromatic Plants, Natural Resource Economics in the College of Forestry;
first priority shall be given to the candidates having specialization in the
same discipline. However, if any seat remains vacant in any of these
disciplines, the candidates from across the other disciplines viz., Forest
Genetic Resources, Silviculture, Agroforestry, Wood
Science & Technology, Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, Plantation
Technology, M Sc forestry shall also be considered.
OR
M Phil degree with research component in concerned
discipline from a recognized University under UGC system of education with an
OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or its equivalent under course credit system at M Sc level
or with 65% marks in annual/ semester system at M Sc level (relaxable by 5% in
case of SC/ ST and Inservice candidates).
OR
Degree of a Foreign University with atleast ‘B’
Grade or its equivalent as recognized by the Academic Council.
b) For Forestry Disciplines, candidates with AIFC
diploma or M Sc (Forestry) Agroforestry having the above OGPA/ percentage of
marks will be eligible.
c) For Ph D Agroforestry, the candidates with M Sc
(Forestry) Agroforestry/ Forestry/ Horticulture/ Agriculture/ Animal Science/
AIFC diploma having the above mentioned OGPA will be eligible.
d) For the Discipline of Statistics, the candidate
with M Sc (Bio-Statistics), M Sc (Applied Mathematics) and M Sc (Mathematics)
having the above mentioned OGPA/ percentage of marks will be eligible. However,
the candidates admitted with these qualifications shall have to undergo the
package of remedial courses equivalent to the core courses of M Sc Programme.
e) For the Discipline of Environmental Science, the
candidate with M Sc Environmental Science/ Environment Management with thesis
in partial fulfillment of the programme from recognized University under ICAR
system having the above mentioned OGPA/ percentage of marks will be eligible.
OR
M Sc in allied disciplines of Forestry/
Horticulture / Agriculture / Physical and Bio-Sciences with thesis in partial
fulfillment of the programme from recognized University under ICAR/ UGC system
having the above mentioned OGPA/ percentage of marks.
OR
Inservice candidates with M Sc degree from ICAR/
State/ Central Institutes including Associate of IGFNA with diploma equivalent
to M Sc Forestry with the above mentioned OGPA/ percentage of marks are also
eligible. For such candidates having atleast 3-years research/ teaching
experience, the requirement of thesis in partial fulfilment at M Sc shall be
relaxed.
Prospectus-cum-application form can be obtained
from the office of the Registrar, Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar University of
Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni-Solan (HP)-173 230 India on payment of 1000/-
in cash (750/- in case of SC/ST category candidates) at counter or by sending
bank draft favouring the Comptroller of this University worth 1050/- (800/-
in case of SC/ST category candidates) payable at State Bank of Patiala, Nauni
or UCO Bank, Nauni. The application form downloaded from the University website
www.yspuniversity.ac.in and accompanied with a bank draft worth 1000/- (750/-
in case of SC/ ST category candidates) is also accepted.

2014 with late fee of 500/-
3. Date of Counselling : 20th January, 2014
4. Date of Notification of result : 21st January, 2014
5. Date of Registration from select list : 22-23 January,
2014
6. Date of Registration from waiting list : 24th January,
2014
7. Commencement of Classes : 30th January, 2014
Important Note:
i) The candidates seeking admission must attach
copies of all the requisite certificates with the admission form. They should
also bring original Degree/ PDC, transcript of academic record and copy of the
thesis submitted in partial fulfilment for the award of qualifying degree at
the time of counselling.
ii) No separate letter for attending the
counselling will be issued.
iii) No TA/ DA is admissible.
