India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) 2014
The
All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) 2014, for admission to
MBBS/BDS seats in participating institutions will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on
4th May, 2014 (Sunday). The Entrance
Test will have one paper with 180 objective type questions from Physics,
Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology).
Each
question will have four options with single correct answer, to be answered on
the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
Candidates can opt for Question Paper either in English or in Hindi and this
has to be exercised while filling in the application form and the same cannot
be changed later.
Those
opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only and those
opting for Hindi would be provided Test Booklet in both Hindi and English
(Bilingual). In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions,
its English version shall be treated as final.
The
Question Papers for the test shall be based on a common syllabus notified by
the Medical council of India which is available as Appendix – X of the
Information Bulletin that can be downloaded from http://aipmt.nic.in/ The List of cities where the AIPMT-2014 will
be conducted is given at Appendix-1 of the Information Bulletin. Applicant has
to select 3 convenient City Codes for the entrance Test.
Eligibility
for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) Seats: Applicant should be an Indian National and
should complete17 years on or before 31stDecember of the year of his/her
admission to the 1stMBBS/BDS Course. The upper age limit for candidates seeking
admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 31stDecember of the
year of the entrance examination. This upper age limit shall be relaxed by a
period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled
Tribes/Other Backward Classes. Applicant must have been born on or between
1.1.85 and 1.1.98 in case of SC/ST/OBC Category and 1.1.90 and 1.1.98 in case
of Other Category.
Students
from the States of Andhra Pradesh and J&K are not eligible for 15% all
India quota seats as both these States had opted out of All India Scheme since
its inception. If they claim eligibility, they must submit an affidavit, in
original, as per Performa given in Appendix - II, on non-judicial Stamp Paper
of Rs 10/- duly sworn in before and attested by a Metropolitan Magistrate/First
Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that (i) They are not eligible to seek
admission for MBBS/BDS seats in Medical/ Dental Colleges in the States of
Andhra Pradesh and J&K (ii) They are
not domiciled in Andhra Pradesh and J&K.
Applications
not accompanied with the required affidavits as per format given at Appendix -
II or accompanied with incomplete, unattested or photocopy of the affidavit
shall be summarily rejected without any further reference in the matter. The
affidavits submitted by such candidates will be verified and if found to be
false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and criminal
proceedings may be initiated against them.
Eligibility
for seats of participating States/Universities/Institutions and AFMC: Applicant
should be an Indian National and should have completed 17 years on or before
31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.
OCI: Overseas
Citizens of India (OCI) may also appear in AIPMT for admission in seats under
the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions subject to rules
and regulations of the Government of India, respective State Governments and
the University/Institution concerned. The upper age limit for candidates
seeking admission under seats in the control of participating
States/Universities/Institutions shall be as per their rules and regulations.
Candidates from the States of Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh can appear
in AIPMT for admission to AFMC, Pune.
Qualifying
Examinations, Subjects and Marks: Applicant must have passed any of the
qualifying examinations enumerated or should be appearing in the qualifying
examination in 2014 and must have passed/should pass in Physics, Chemistry,
Biology/Bio-technology and English individually, securing a minimum of 50%
marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the
qualifying examination. Those belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes
or Other Backward Classes should secure 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and
Biology/Bio-technology together in qualifying examination. For persons with
locomotory disability of lower limbs, minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40%
marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.
The
Qualifying examinations and the codes for each are as follows.
(i) A person who is appearing in the qualifying
examination (12th Standard) in 2014 whose result is awaited, may apply and take
AIPMT subject to his/her passing the qualifying examination with the required
pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counselling (Code : 01)
(ii)
The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate
Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination
after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising
of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology (which shall include practical
tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with
English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by
the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of
the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on
Education. where the course content is not as prescribed for 10 +2 education
structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a
period of one year pre - professional training before admission to the Medical
Colleges (Code 2)
(iii)
The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian
University/Board or other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry,
Biology /Bio-technology (which shall include practical test in these subjects)
and also English as a compulsory subject (CODE : 03)
(iv)
The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry,
Biology/Bio-technology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary
Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination. The
Pre-professional/Pre-medical examination shall include practical test in these
subjects and also English as a compulsory subject (CODE : 04)
(v)
The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognised University
with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in
these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and
candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics,
Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology with English at a level not less than a core
course (CODE : 05)
(vi)
B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the
B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry,
Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology and further that he/ she has passed
the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
(CODE : 06)
(vii)
Any other examination which in scope and standard (Last 02 years of 10+2 Study
comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology ; Which shall
include practical test in these subjects.) is found to be equivalent to the
Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics,
Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in each of these
subjects and English (CODE : 07)

Reservation
in Government Medical Colleges Under 15% AIQ: 15% seats are reserved for SC
candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 27% for non-creamy layer OBC candidates
in Central Educational Institutions. Reservation would be applicable to the
castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC. Those from creamy layer and do not
come under Central List of OBC are advised to mention their category as
General. 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped
candidates (only for locomotory disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70%,
provided that in case any seat in this 3% quota remains unfilled on account of
unavailability of candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs between
50% to 70% then any such unfilled seat in this 3% quota shall be filled up by
persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% before
they are included in the seats of respective category) in 15% All India UG
quota seat.

Reservation will be made as per 2200 point reservation roster. The mode of
implementation of reservation will be available on DGHS website-
www.mohfw.nic.in.
Admission
In State Medical Colleges/ Universities/ Institutions/ AFMC for Seats Other
Than 15% AIQ: In case a State/University/Institution opts to admit students in
its medical colleges from the merit list of AIPMT 2014, it may prepare separate
rank list based on All India rank in AIPMT and other criteria decided by it.
List of States/Universities/Institutions that have decided to use the result of
AIPMT 2014 as on the date of publication of Information Bulletin is at
Appendix-VIII of the Bulletin. Those seeking admission in seats other than 15%
All India Quota may visit the websites of State/University/Institution as
mentioned at Appendix-VIII and contact the authorities concerned in advance for
eligibility criteria and other details for admission.
AFMC
Admission: Admission to Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune shall be
subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate of Armed Force medical
Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates who apply for
AIPMT 2014 and also seek admission in AFMC will have to apply on the website of
AFMC www.afmc.nic.in/www.afmc.dg1d.gov.in. The short listed candidates will be
required to appear for a second stage Screening conducted by AFMC. Candidates
may contact AFMC for further details.
Fee: Application fee
can be paid without late fee and with late fee. For General/OBC Applicants, fee
is Rs.1000/- if paid between 1.12.2013 and 31.12.2013. It is Rs.550/- for SC/ST/PH applicants.
Application fee
can be paid with a later fee of Rs.1000/- between 1.1.2014 and 31.1.2014. The
amount to be paid will be Rs.2000/- for General/OBC Applicants and Rs.1500/-
for SC/ST/PH applicants.
Application Form: Applications
can be submitted for AIPMT only on-line at www.aipmt.nic.in.
Before submission of application form,
applicant should have scanned image of his/her latest photograph and signature
in JPG format only, for uploading as part of submission of online application.
Specifications related to them are given in the Information Bulletin. Applicant
should also decide the mode of payment of fee which can be done through
Debit/Credit Card using on-line gateway payment facility or by depositing in
CBSE Bank Account with Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank directly or depositing in
CBSE Account with e-Post Office by downloading the Challan Form from the
website of www.aipmt.nic.in.
In
addition to examination fee, service/processing charges will also to be paid by
the candidate for online payment of fee through Debit/Credit Card/Challan along
with Service Tax, as applicable. Details of the same are available on Boards
website.
Method
of Submission of Application Form: Applicant should log on to www.aipmt.nic.in. Download the Information Bulletin and Replica
of online Application form to read it carefully to understand eligibility
criteria and other requirements for submission of application online. Applicant may go to the link ‘Apply
On-line’; open the same, read the instructions and procedure for on-line
submission of Application Form carefully. At the end of this page, following
four links to apply online are given:
Application
submission has to be competed in four stages.
(a)
Fill in the on-line application form Part-I and note down the registration
number
(b)
Upload images of photograph and signature in JPG format at Part-II of the
application
(c)
Make payment of fee through Debit/Credit Card or download Challan for payment
in the designated accounts of Canara Bank/Syndicate Bank/e-Post Office at Part
III
(d)
If fee is deposited through Challan, fill in the relevant columns of on-line
application form at Part-III furnishing the details of fee deposited
(e)
Take print out of Confirmation page(s) at Part IV of online application format
to send to CBSE along with copy of proof of fee deposited, if fee is deposited
through Challan mode.
After
submission of data at Part I, programme will automatically take the applicant
to second link for uploading of photograph and signature. After uploading of
photograph and signature, programme will automatically take applicant to third
link for payment of fee. Follow the instructions and remit the fee. After
Depositing Fee in the Bank/e-Post office, the Deposit Slip bearing Application
Registration Number, Name and address of the Bank branch with branch code/Post
Office with Pin Code where fee is deposited and transaction ID number be kept
ready with you while logging on to website for final submission of Part-III of
the application form. On successful remittance of fee and updating of payment
particulars online (if fee is remitted through Challan), the programme will
take applicant to a fourth link to take print out of Confirmation Page. Print
the Confirmation Page of online application after final submission at Part-III
of the application form.
Applicant
should follow the instructions to take the print out of Confirmation Page and
Address Slip of the CBSE to be pasted on A5 (12” x 10”) Envelope for sending
the complete application form to the CBSE. Applicant should ensure that at
least four copies of the Confirmation Page and one copy of the Address Slip may
be got printed. Three copies of the Confirmation page may be kept safely by the
candidate for any future need. One copy of the Confirmation Page may be
completed as per instructions for sending to the Board.
The
photocopy of this Confirmation Page along with the proof of fee paid and the
original receipt issued by the Post Office may also be kept safely by the
candidate.
The
Application Form duly filled-in along with other documents, if any, should be
sent to ‘The Assistant Secretary (Exam), Aipmt Unit, Central Board Of Secondary
Education, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, PreetVihar, Delhi - 110 092’ by
Registered Post/Speed Post only so as to reach positively by last date(s) of
receipt of application form according to the fee paid.
Last
date of receipt of confirmation page of application form in CBSE for Normal areas
would be 10.01.2014 (if fee is paid by 31.12.2013) and 05.02.2014 (if fee is
paid with late fee by 31.1.204). In case of remote areas (Remote areas are
Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura,
Sikkim, Lahaul and Spiti Districts and Pangi sub-division of Chamba District of
Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep), it will be
20.01.2014 and 10.02.2014 respectively.
Applicant
should avoid sending of application form through courier services. In case, application
sent by courier is misplaced during transition, no request for considering
candidature would be accepted. Application Form will not be received personally
from candidates. All other correspondence pertaining to conduct of examination
shall also be made on this address.
Even
after the successful submission of online application form within due date, if
the Computer Generated Confirmation page is not received by the Board on or
before the last date or received without requisite fee, the application form of
the candidate will be treated as cancelled.
Admit Card: Facility for
downloading the Admit Cards of AIPMT 2014 will be available at the Board’s
website. For Applications without Late Fee, it will available from 1.4.2014 and
for applications with Late Fee, the facility will be available from 10.04.2014.
Admit cards will not be sent by post.
The
Admit Card will bear the candidate’s Roll Number, Name, Father’s Name,
Category, Sub-Category, Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth, Language of
Question Paper with Name and Address of AIPMT 2014 Examination centre allotted.
The candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him/her for
all the entries made therein. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate should
immediately inform the Board. In such cases, candidates would appear in the
examination with the already downloaded admit card. However, Board will take
necessary action to make correction in the record later. In no case, the
duplicate Admit Card for AIPMT 2014 would be issued at the Examination Centres.
The
instructions to be followed in the examination hall by the candidates are given
in details in the Information Bulletin. Candidate should not do any rough work
or writing work on the Answer Sheet. All rough work is to be done in the Test
Booklet itself.
Display
of OMR sheets and responses on website: CBSE will display the images of OMR
Answer Sheets and Responses graded by the Machine of all the candidates at
www.aipmt.nic.in prior to declaration of result. The OMR answer sheets are
likely to be displayed for any five days between dates 25thMay and 31stMay,
2014. Candidates will be given an
opportunity to submit representation against the OMR grading on payment of
Rs.1000/- per response challenged. It will be refunded if challenge is accepted
by the Board.
Scoring
and Marking: Each item carries 4 marks. For each correct response the candidate
will get 4 marks. For each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from
the total score. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no
response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. More than one answer
indicated a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be
negatively marked.
Tie-breaking:
In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the AIPMT 2014, the
inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined by placing candidates
obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test,
candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the Test, Candidates with
less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the Test and
finally, Candidates older in age higher in rank, in that order.
Results:
Results are likely to be declared by the end of 1stweek of June, 2014. It will
be hosted at www.aipmt.nic.in. CBSE will prepare the merit list/ wait list as
per the directives of the Supreme Court of India, DGHS, MCI and DCI. There will
be no separate result list of SC/ST candidates. As soon as the result is ready,
CBSE will host the results on the website and thereafter candidates may
download the Result Sheets.
Minimum
mark stipulation in AIPMT: CBSE will prepare the list of successful candidates
of AIPMT 2014 on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical
Council of India. In addition to the mark stipulation in the qualifying
examination, applicant must secure not less than 50% marks in Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology taken together in AIPMT. In respect of the candidates
belonging to the SC, ST and OBC category the marks obtained in Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology in AIPMT would be 40%. For persons with locomotory
disability of lower limbs, minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for
SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.
A
list of the successful candidates in order of merit based on the score obtained
in the examination will be prepared by the Board and forwarded to the
counselling authorities for the purpose of allotment of seats. All those
appearing in AIPMT 2014 Examination must remain in touch with the websites of
CBSE, MOHFW, Medical Counselling Committee and Participating States/Universities/Institutions
till conclusion of final round of Counselling.
Merit/Wait
List for Counselling under 15% All India Quota: The merit list of the eligible
and successful Candidates who have opted for 15% All India quota seats will be
prepared by the CBSE on the basis of score obtained in the AIPMT 2014. The
merit list will be equal to the number of seats available for allotment in
MBBS/BDS courses under 15% All India Quota. There shall also be a waiting list
equal to 4 times of the merit list. The list of successful candidates (Merit
List/ Waiting List) shall be forwarded to the Directorate General of Health
Services (Medical Examination Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Government of India for the purpose of allotment of seats by Online Counselling.
Merit
List for seats other than 15% All India Quota: Based on the information in
respect of State code of eligibility and domicile filled in by the candidates
in the application form and the score obtained by the candidates in the
AIPMT-2014, CBSE will prepare State level merit list of successful candidates
for each participating state. The list of successful candidates shall be
forwarded to the Directorate of Medical Education of the State concerned for
the purpose of allotment of seats by online counselling/personal appearance by
following the rules and reservation policies applicable to the State/UT
concerned.
All
participating Medical Institutions and Universities shall prepare their own
ranking based on the All India merit list of successful candidates of AIPMT
2014 and other criteria as decided by them. The list of successful candidates
of AIPMT who have opted for AFMC shall be forwarded to the Directorate General
of Armed Force Medical Service, Ministry of Defence, Government of India for
second stage screening and counselling.
CBSE
has arranged Facilitation Centres (see Appendix VII of Information Bulletin)
across the country to facilitate the candidates to submit their applications
for AIPMT-2014online. Those desirous of applying may visit Suitable
Facilitation Centre to utilize the services free of cost during working hours.
