and M. Tech: through the CCMT 2014.

National Institute of Technology, Goa, Farmagudi, Ponda, 403-401, Goa
has invited applications for admission to PhD Program in the areas as specified
below:
Ph.D. Program (Discipline and Qualifications):-
Engineering and Technology
Master’s Degree in Engineering or
Technology in the relevant discipline with a minimum 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks in
both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels from recognized Technical Institute or
University. [Minimum 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks for SC/ST candidates]
Candidates will be considered for
Ph.D. programme on the basis of:
Valid GATE score card or
CSIR/UGC-NET
Humanities & Sciences
(Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics and English)
Master’s degree in Sciences or
Humanities / M. Tech in the relevant area with a minimum 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks
in both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels from recognized Institute or University.
[Minimum 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks for SC/ST candidates]
Candidates will be considered for

Scholarship / Assistantship:
The selected candidates shall be
entitled for scholarship / assistantship as per Govt of India norms from time
to time. Research scholars selected for the Ph.D. programme will have to
complete the allotted course work within two years of the joining of Ph.D.
Programme and will be governed by Ph.D. regulations of the Institute.
Selection Procedure:
The admission to Ph.D. Programme
will be on the criteria given below:
a) Overall Academic Performance
b) Interview/ Written Test to be
conducted by the specific Department
All candidates selected for
admission shall be required to deposit the requisite Institute fee at the time
of admission
How to apply:
The application form and other
relevant information for admission to Ph.D. program may be downloaded from the website:
www.nitgoa.ac.in.
Applications form, duly filled
in, must contain a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- for General / OBC and Rs.
200/- for SC / ST candidates. The DD should be drawn in favour of Assistant
Registrar, National Institute of Technology, Goa payable at Corporation Bank,
Farmagudi Branch (Code: 1328) and should reach , NIT Goa 403-401 on or before
23/06/2014
The following documents
(whichever applicable) arranged in the order given below should be enclosed
along with the duly filled application:
i) Three recent passport size
photographs of the candidate attested by Gazetted Officer / Principal of the
College /Head of the Institute last attended.
ii) Self-attested copy of GATE
score or UGC/CRIR/NBHM/UGC-NET fellowship.
iii) Self-attested copy of
marks-sheet & degree certificates of the qualifying examinations
iv) Self-attested copy of
provisional certificate of the qualifying examination.
v) Self-attested copy of
under-graduate degree certificate and marks-sheets.
vi) Self-attested copy of certificate
of matriculation/ Xth class as the proof of age of the candidate.
vii) Self-attested copy of Caste
Certificate in case of SC/ST candidates from the competent authority (not below
the rank of SDO/SDM/DC/DM/Tahsildar)
viii) Self-attested copy of caste
certificate in case of OBC candidate from competent authority (not below the
rank of SDO/SDM/DC/DM/Tahsildar) indicating the status regarding creamy layer
for the financial year.
ix) Self-attested copy of
Experience Certificate
x) Research Proposal of 1000
words should be attached with the application form.
xi) No-Objection-Certificate duly
signed by the HOD/HOS in case of employee of NIT Goa
xii) Self-attested copy of
credentials including AICTE recognized short-term courses attended, research
publications, professional qualifications etc.
xiii) Demand draft towards
application fee as per category for the candidate i.e. Rs. 500/- for General /
OBC and Rs.200/- for SC / ST candidates.
