Army Institute of Fashion Design invites
application for Admission to UG and PG courses for 2015-16 session.
The Institute was estd. in Bangalore in 2004 under
the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) to impart quality education
in the field of Fashion and Design to the wards of Army Personnel both serving
and retired
AIFD is located in Nagareshwara Nagenahalli,
Kothanur Post, Bangalore-560077, a fast growing part of Bangalore East, easily
accessible to the airport, with several prestigious educational institutes and
housing projects in the near vicinity
UG Programme
a) 3 years B.Sc Fashion and
Apparel Design (Affiliated to Bangalore University)
The duration of study for B.Sc Degree in Fashion
and Apparel Design shall extend over a period of three academic years
comprising 6 Semesters
The medium of Instruction and Exam in all the
subjects shall be English. Candidate shall be permitted to appear for the
university exam only if he/she puts in attendance as per university regulations

a) Master in Fashion and

Eligibility in AIFD UG-PG Programm 2015
Eligibility for Admission to the PG/UG Courses at
AIFD: The admission to the Army Institute of Fashion and Design is for the
children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and
wards of war widows/widows of the Army
The children of following categories of Army
personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate
as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility
for admission to Army Institute of Fashion and Design along with the
Application Form
Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:
i) Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army
Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with Indian
navy or Indian Air Force (IN/IAF)
Wards of only those ex Army medical officers/Army
Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy of Indian Air Force
who have served with the Army for 10 years
ii) Eligibility Criteria for children of APS/MNS/TA
Personnel
Children of APS personnel classified as
Ex-Servicemen as per Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9
(52)/88/D(Res) Dated 19th July 89
Children of those APS personnel who are on
deputation and who have in 10 years of service in the Army
Children of APS personnel, who are directly
recruited into APS who have completed 10 years of service and of those who as
per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion
to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of
which 10 years was in the Army
Children of only those members of MNS who have 10
years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the
Army
Children of only those TA personnel who have
completed 10 Years of embodied service
Educational
Qualification:
UG Courses
The applicant must be a 10+2/Equivalent examination
in any combination with minimum 35% aggregate marks from recognized boards by
UGC/university
Candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination
as a regular candidates are only eligible for admission to B.Sc (FAD) as per
Bangalore University norms
Candidates who have passed through distance
education system or privately through NIOS (National Institute of Open
Schooling) are not eligible
PG Course
Any graduate with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks
recognized by Indian Universities or Equivalent or UGC/AICTE
Physical Fitness: Besides fulfilling the eligibity
conditions as per Para 1 the candidates should be certified by
MH/RMO/Registered Medical Practioner as Physically and Mentally fit to pursue
the course
Selection Procedure
Date and Time of WAT: The Written Admission Test
(WAT) 2015 for admission to the UG Course offered by the AIFD Bangalore, will
be held on 25th April 2015 from 14:30 hrs to 17:30 at the notified examination
centers
Exam
Centres: Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Guwahati
Nature of
WAT/CAT: WAT/CAT will consist of 100 marks objective type test items to be
responded to by the candidates in the allocated duration of three hours
The test will have the following components:
a) Intelligence and Reasoning Test
b) General Awareness Test
c) English Language Competency and Comprehension
Test (including short essay)
i) The medium of the test shall be English only
ii) The sample question paper is given at Appendix
'A'
iii) No negative marking will be done
How to Apply
Candidates are required to fill in the form given
in prospectus
The Prospectus can be obtained by the candidates
from the office of AIFD Bangalore, Nagareshwara Nagenahalli, Kothanur Post,
Bangalore-560077 through requisition along with a crossed demand draft for
Rs.550/- (with includes Rs.50 postal charges) in favor of Army Institue of
Fashion & Design payable at Bangalore
Money order/Cheque /Postal order will not be
accepted
Prospectus is also available at the Institute, Army
Headquarters (AWES) and all the command Headquarters (AWES) on payment of
Demand Draft of Rs.500/-
Application forms duly completed in all respects along
with relevant certificates documents should reach the Principal, Army Institute
of Fashion & Design, Bangalore, Nagareshwara, Nagenahalli, Kothanur Post,
Bangalore-560077 latest by 16th March, 2015 for UG and 30th May, 2015 for PG
A late fee of Rs.100/- by 26th Mar 2015 for UG and
16th June 2015 for PG Courses will be levied
Students downloading the forms from website will
have to attach a draft of Rs 500/- along with the application form towards
candidateship for WAT/CAT
Admit Card
The admit card for the WAT/CAT will be sent to the
candidates by "Registered Post" on the address indicated by them on
the white envelope provided with the application form
Candidates are requested to Affix Stamps of Rs.25/-
for the purpose. Admit card will be sent only on receipt of the filled
application
