M.Sc Admission Notice 2015
National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli
invites applications from eligible candidates for admission into various M.Sc
Programmes offered in the Dept of Physics, Chemistry and Computer Applications
for the academic year 2015-16
The M.Sc Programmes offered and eligible bachelor
of science degree required for admissions are given below:
Programme Offered & Eligible Bachelor’s Degree
(B.Sc)
M.Sc (Physics): i) B.Sc (Physics/Applied
Physics/Applied Sciences); ii) B.S (Physics); iii) B.Sc Hons (Physics); iv)
B.Sc Ed (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
M.Sc (Chemistry): Chemistry with Mathematics as one
of the ancillary subjects
M.Sc (Computer Science): i) B.Sc (Computer
Science)/ B.Sc (Information Technology)/ BCA, ii) B.Sc (Applied Sciences) with
Mathematics and Computer Science (10+2+3 scheme) from a recognized university,
iii) Any Bachelor’s degree in science (10+2+3) from a recognized university
with at least 6 papers in Computer Science and 2 papers in Mathematics under
semester system or at least 3 papers in Computer Science and 1 paper in Mathematics
under Annual System
Candidates who have already passed their qualifying
degree exam or who have appeared/are appearing for the final semester/year exam
in 2015 are eligible
Eligibility for M.Sc Program
Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate
marks or 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) in the qualifying degree exam for
OC/OBC/OCPWD/OBCPWD candidates [55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point
scale) for SC/ST/SCPWD/STPWD candidates] for admission to all M.Sc program
Those candidates who have appeared/are appearing
for final semester/year examination, provisional admission is permitted
provided their final marks are made available on or before 15th Sept.-2015
Conversion from CGPA to percentage or vice versa
given by individual institute will not be considered/allowed
Reservation: Government of India reservation policy
will be followed for OBC/SC/ST and Persons with Disability (PWD)
OBC Certificate: OBC certificate must have been
obtained on or after 01st April 2015 as per the prescribed format given in
Annexure-I
How to Apply for NITT MSc Program 2015
Application form and information brochure can be
downloaded from www.nitt.edu
Candidates can apply only through the downloaded
application form
The duly filled-in application form should be accompanied
with attested copies of the following certificates:
i) All mark lists, ii) Degree/Provisional
certificate (Course Completion/Bonafied certificate from the Head of the
Institution where he/she last studied for result awaiting candidates), iii) Community
certificate (if applicable), iv) PWD certificate (if applicable) and v) A
Demand Draft for Rs.300/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities) drawn
from any nationalized bank (preferably State Bank of India) not earlier than
15th Apr 2015 in favour of “The Director, National Institute of Technology,
Tiruchirappalli-620 015” payable at Tiruchirappalli towards registration fee.
The candidates are requested to write their name on
the reverse side of the Demand Draft
The registration fee is non-refundable
Application forms completed in all respects should
reach “The Chairperson (PG Admission), Office of the Dean (Academic), National
Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli-620015, Tamil Nadu” by registered post
or speed post before 05.00 p.m on or before 22nd May 2015
Office of the Dean Academic, National Institute of
Technology, Tiruchirappalli is not responsible for the non-receipt of
applications sent by post or by courier or late receipt of applications due to
postal delay or for any reason whatsoever.
Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected
Selection Procedure: Selection will be based on the
marks obtained in entrance test conducted by NITT and the qualifying degree
exam marks
The entrance test for all the M.Sc programmes will
be conducted on 07th June 2015 from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon at NIT
Tiruchirappalli
Admit card will be sent to the eligible candidates
well before the entrance examination date and also the eligible candidates list
for the entrance test will be displayed in www.nitt.edu
Original Certificates to be produced at the time of
Admission:
1) Admission letter received from NIT,
Tiruchirappalli, 2) Degree/provisional certificate, 3) Consolidated Grade or
mark sheet of qualifying degree examinations, 4) Course completion/Bonafied
certificate for result awaiting candidates, 5) Transfer certificate issued by
the institute last studied, 6) OBC certificate issued on or after 01st Apr 2015
by the competent authority, if applicable, 7) SC/ST certificate issued by the
competent authority, if applicable, 8) Certificate for PWD candidates
Important Dates
Last date for the receipt of completed application form: 22nd
May 2015
Date of Entrance Test: 07th June 2015
Announcement of results for all M.Sc Programmes
through NITT website: 17th June 2015 (tentatively)
