Advertisement for Admission to Ph.D. Program 2015 in the
Department of Chemical Engineering
Applications are invited for the admission to
the Ph.D. programme in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Calcutta for
the year 2015.
Eligibility: Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology or Master Degree in Science.
Number of vacancies: 16 (Sixteen)
Reservation: Reservation
in admission shall strictly abide by the West Bengal State Higher Educational
Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules, 2013.
It may be noted that the selected candidates,
after successful completion of the Programme will be awarded "Ph.D. (Tech.)" Degree
Requirement of Research Eligibility lest
(RET): Candidates having
Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology or Master Degree in Science
(subject to provision of 4.4 of Ph.D. regulation) are to appear for the Research
Eligibility Test (RET) of the Ph.D. programme 2015. Candidates appearing in the
Final Semester/Year are also eligible.
Exemption from Research Eligibility lest
(RET): Candidates having Post
Graduate Degree in Science with NET/GATE/M.Phil. or candidates having Post
Graduate Degree in Engineering/Technology are exempted from RET and they are eligible
for directly appearing at the interview.

Venue: Professor X. K. Bose Memorial Hall, 1st
Floor, Department of Chemical
Engineering, University of Calcutta. Type of RET: 50 marks, MCQ Format comprising three
sections: Candidates are to select one of the three sections in (a) Engineering
Science, (b) Physical Science, and (c) Bio-science.

paid through a challan, available from the sales counter of the University
(college street campus), may be submitted to the Head of the Department of
Chemical Engineering, UCSTA, University of Calcutta, 92, A.P.C. Road,
Kolkata-700009.
Last date for submission of dully filled
in application form is 23/06/2015.
