APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR BRITISH CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP
The British Chevening Scholarship Programme 2009 is now open for Applications till December 31, 2008.
It is the U.K. Government's Flagship Scholarship Scheme, aimed at future leaders, opinion formers and decision makers.
VARIANTS
Applications are invited form talented Indians for the two variants. One is the "Long - Term (Open) Scholarship" to undertake a one-year master's study at leading Universities in the U.K., and the Other is the "Chevening Gurukul Scholarship for Leadership and Excellence" for working professionals.
The Gurukul Scholarship for Leadership and Excellence is designed for working professionals who have substantial experience in their professional field and are looking for a short-term professional training to expand and consolidate their experience. Twelve exceptional candidates form India will be selected for this programme.
It is a unique 12-week, advanced leadership programme, created by the renowned London School of Economics and Political Scinece (LSE) specifically for India's future leaders.
CHALLENGES
Each year, the programme enables 12 Indian men and women to participate in an intensive exploration of the challenges of top loeadership in a globalising world thorugh a programme of academic studies, field visits and seminars, debaes with practitioners, and invidual projects of direct personal relevance.
EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have at least five years of relevant work experience in their chosen filed.
They should have excellent proficiency in English and be computer literate.
The programme will be on for 12 weeks begining late September 2009.

CHEVNING 2009 PROGRAMME
The Chevening Scholarship scheme offers exceptional Indian candidates the opportunity to undertake postgraduate study at leading universities in the UK. It is aimed at future leaders, opinion formers and decision-makers.
Annually, the Chevening programme supports around 2000 individuals from across the globe to study in the UK. Up to 100 Indian professionals receive financial assistance for the duration of their studies each year.
