The Program:
Fully residential MSIT degree program of one and a half years duration.
First year of SSN SASE, Chennai with core faculty and industry professionals.
Courseware and methodology provided by Carnegie Mellon University, USA
Remaining six months at Carnegie Mellon University, USA
MSIT degree conferred by Carnegie Mellon University, USA

Requirements:
Graduate or Post Graduate in Engineering with at least 60%
Students in final year can also apply.
Valid GRE and TOEFL score on or before February 15, 2009
Weightage for industry experience

2. A copy of all academic records (transcripts) from X standard to maximum educational qualification attained.
3. Resume giving details of academic achievements and work experience
4. Statement of Purpose
5. 2 letters of recommendations either from your College/University authorities or from your current employers.
6. A copy of TOEFL score sheet
7. A copy of GRE score sheet

9. 2 passport size photographs with full name on the back of the photographs for sending the hall ticket.

The Program
SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering, Off Chennai, India, in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, U.S.A., offers for the first time in India: Carnegie Mellon's Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) degree program with specializations in Software Engineering and Embedded Software Engineering.

It is a one and a half year full time residential program. The first year is offered in SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering.

In this period, the students complete core courses, prerequisites, electives and project work. Experienced faculty of SSN SASE and practicing professionals conduct the courses in the first year using Carnegie Mellon courseware. The faculty of SSN SASE and Carnegie Mellon University continuously evaluate the students.

On successful completion of the one-year curriculum in India, the students get a certificate from Carnegie Mellon University. They can then proceed to Carnegie Mellon University to complete further studies in six months, and obtain the MSIT degree. The coursework at Carnegie Mellon University consists of project work under the supervision of Carnegie Mellon University and two electives.

Students desirous of proceeding to Carnegie Mellon University should obtain a valid US visa.


PLACEMENT:
Their alumni are placed well in companies like Microsoft, IBM, Infosys, Satyam, Polaris, HCL, Wipro etc.

The typical salary of their alumni is about USD95,000/- p.a., the maximum being USD110,000/- p.a.
