Fortis Merit Scholarships 2012-2013

Through Fortis Institute of Nursing, Bangalore – which is the education initiative of the company at Bangalore - the company has started awarding scholarships to meritorious students planning to study B.Sc. and Pc B.Sc. For the first time in the history of nursing education Fortis Healthcare announced scholarships last year to nurture talents in nursing education and award nursing professionals. More than 37 meritorious students got the benefits of this scheme. Fortis Institute of Nursing is carrying on this practice this year to make quality nursing education more affordable for deserving students and make this profession as rewarding as any other.

Terms and Conditions for Fortis Merit Scholarships 2012-2013


B.Sc. Nursing Study

1. Any student with an aggregate average marks of 70% or above in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in class XII and Class XI State or Central Board Examination in the first attempt is eligible to get the scholarship for studying the first year of B.Sc nursing at the Institute.
2. The student should otherwise be eligible to study nursing as decided by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
3. The Merit Scholarship is given for a maximum of 4 consecutive years from the date of admissions. The amount of scholarship will be a maximum of Rs.25,000/- per year of study. Scholarship is given by way of waiver in the course fees to the tune of Rs.25,000/- per year.
4. To retain the scholarship in 2nd ,3rd and 4th years following guidelines are applied:

a) Top 25% of students passing all subjects in first year RGUHS examination with a minimum of 60% marks are eligible to get the scholarship in the 2nd year of study.
b) Top 25% of students passing all the subjects in the second year of RGUHS examination with a minimum of 70% marks are eligible to get the scholarship in the 3rd year of study
c) Top 25% of students passing all subjects in the third year of RGUHS examination with a minimum of 70% marks are eligible to get the scholarship in the 4th year of study.

5. If a candidate drops out of the course, for whatever reasons, after commencement of the course, the scholarship is forfeited and the candidate needs to pay full fees for the year as compensation to the Institute.
6.  If it is found out that the candidate has misrepresented his/her credentials( knowingly or unknowingly) and is in fact not eligible to get the scholarship, then the management reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship for that student with retrospective effects, and initiate action against the student to recover the scholarship amount and also take other disciplinary actions as deemed suitable.


Terms and Conditions for Fortis Merit Scholarships 2012-2013 
 PC B.Sc. Nursing Study

1. Any GNM student with an average of 70% marks in class XI, class XII State or Central board examinations in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and GNM marks is eligible for Fortis Merit Scholarships to study 1st year PC. B.Sc. course at the Institute. Class XI, class XII and GNM examinations should have been passed in first attempts, without missing any term during the study of the course.
2. The student should otherwise be eligible to take admission to PC B.Sc. nursing program as decided by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
3. The amount of Merit Scholarship is Rs.20, 000/- per year for a maximum of two consecutive academic years from the date of admission. Scholarship is given by way of waiver in the course fees to the tune of Rs.20, 000/- per year of study.
4. To be eligible to get the Merit Scholarship in the second year of study a candidate should pass the first year RGUHS examination with a minimum of 70% marks and be in the top 25% among all students of his/her batch passing the first year PC B.Sc. examination conducted by RGUHS.
5. If a candidate drops out of the course, for whatever reasons, after commencement of the course, the scholarship is forfeited and the candidate needs to pay full fees for the year as compensation to the Institute.
