Applications are invited for Ph.D. Entrance Examination, 2012 of Saurashtra University in the discipline ‘Wildlife Science’ at the Wildlife Institute of India, P.O. Box # 18, Chandrabani, Dehra Dun – 248 001 (Uttarakhand). 

Candidates appearing for the Ph.D. Entrance Examination shall submit a demand draft of Rs. 550/- as application fee in favour of the Registrar, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, along with the Application Form. 

Candidate must have Post-graduate degree with 55% marks in Life Sciences (Botany/Zoology/Forestry/Statistics/Experimental Biology/ Environmental Science/ Biological Science/Wildlife Science/Agriculture/M.V.Sc.). 5% relaxation in marks will be given to OBC, SC/ST & physically challenged applicants. 

Envelope super-scribed with the title “Application for the Ph.D. Entrance Examination 2012 – Wildlife Science, Saurashtra University” should be submitted in person or by post to The Research Coordinator, Wildlife Institute of India, P.O. Box # 18, Chandrabani, Dehra Dun – 248 001 (Uttarakhand). 

Upon scrutiny of duly filled-in application(s) received by the WII Centre latest by 25th June 2012, the list of candidates eligible to appear for the Ph.D. Entrance Test will be hosted in the Institute’s website www.wii.gov.in on 26th June 2012 and the candidates will also be informed individually through e-mail and phone/mobile to appear for the Ph.D. Entrance Examination (2012) on Friday, 6th July 2012 at the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Chandrabani, Dehradun.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

Syllabus, Application Form and other details are given below and the same can also be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.wii.gov.in.

Duly filled-in application forms received at WII Centre after due date of submission i.e. 25th June 2012, will be rejected.

The Admit Card and the Attendance Slip for the eligible candidates for the Ph.D. Entrance Exam will be issued at the time of Registration on 6th July 2012 from 09:00hrs to 10:00hrs at WII Centre.

The Director, WII reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason.

The Institute will not provide any accommodation and travel cost(s) for candidates appearing for the entrance exam. They are required to travel at their own cost and make arrangements at their own for their stay, if required.

Note: The question paper will be a ‘Multiple Choice Type’ with 4 options each. No negative marking. A candidate must obtain an aggregate of 50 marks to qualify the Ph.D. Entrance Test.
