Dengue Research: Call for
proposals
The Department of
Biotechnology (DBT) intends to enable, promote & accelerate R&D
activities that will enhance the capacity & capability of those committed
to Dengue Research. The programme emphasis is to accelerate research that will
generate knowledge & develop technologies to provide the basis for dengue
prevention & control. Proposals are invited from interested researchers
in the following domains:
1.Establishment of Dengue
laboratory network programme with defined gene amplifications for understanding
the genotypes, serotypes in each region
2.Strengthening regional
laboratories for rapid and confirmatory diagnosis of suspected dengue cases
3.Development of
Integrated companion diagnostic tests (Ag/Ab) and new rapid point of care
diagnostic test systems & validation
4.Novel strategies for
Vaccine Development
5.Utilization of primary
human cell targets to understand the translational data on platelet, monocytes,
DCs, and endothelial cells by using stem cell technology
6.Studies on pathogenic
antibodies in dengue hemorrhagic fever: their
generation,
specificity, regulation, seroepidemiology etc
7.Development of advanced
research programme on platelet pathology
8.To study molecular
markers of neurotropism & vector preference
