Aim
of the Courses
To
provide critical understanding of the geo-spatial data base generation,
analysis and utilization in disaster preparedness, risk assessment, disaster
monitoring, relief and rehabilitation work. Participants will gain skills in
designing, developing and undertaking research in the field of Natural Hazards
and Disaster Risk Management (NHDRM) using Geo-informatics tools and techniques
(Remote Sensing, GIS, GPS and allied spatial technologies). After successful
completion of the course, participants can find better job prospects in rapidly
growing Geoinformatics industry/Disaster Management in both government and
private sectors.

Can Apply?
These
International courses are specially designed for mid-career professional and
bright students with technical or science background and interested in
Geoinformatics and Disaster Management. The applicants are required to have
passed with First Division in any one of the subjects listed below. For working
government servants, graduation in science with 2 years of experience is
required for P.G. Diploma course.
M.Sc.
in Natural Sciences/Earth Sciences/Physical Sciences/ Agriculture or M.Sc. in
Geography/P.G. in Urban and Regional Planning/ B.Arch /B. Planning/M. Planning
or B.E./B. Tech./ M.E./M. Tech. in Civil Engineering/Agricultural
Engineering/Environmental Eng/ Geosciences/ Geoexploration/Earthquake Engg.,
Geoinformatics, ECE, IT, CS or B.Sc. (Forestry/Agriculture, both with 4 years
duration course) M.A. (Geography/Disaster Management) with B.Sc. and MCA with
B.Sc, M.A. (Geography/Disaster management) students can apply for PG Diploma.
