Post B.Sc. Four Semester PG Diploma
in Jute Technology and Management Course

Department
of Jute and Fibre Technology, Institute of Jute Technology, Calcutta
University, announces admission to the Post B.Sc. Four Semester PG Diploma in
Jute Technology and Management Course for the academic session 2013-14, to
prepare and educate as Technomanagerial manpower for need of the future
Technical managers for Jute Industry for sustainable HRD for Jute Sector to be
conducted in this department for Sponsored and General (Nonsponsored)
Candidates under the financial aids from National Jute Board, Ministry of
Textiles, Govt. of India.
1. About
the Course: This Post B.Sc. Four Semester PG Diploma in Jute Technology and Management
is the course approved by Calcutta University and AICTE mainly designed to suit
the Diploma level techno-managerial manpower requirement for Jute industry and
related organizations.
2. Intake:
Total
Seats: 60 (50% for sponsored and 50% for non-sponsored candidates.). However,
if seats for sponsored candidates remain vacant, those will filled up by
non-sponsored candidates.
Reservations
for SC/ST/PH candidates are as per University norms / W.B. Govt. rule.
Moreover, 5% seats are reserved for Tuition fee waiver (TFW) candidates.

Eligibility for Admission:
Pass in
B.Sc. Examination with Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics /
Computer etc from the University of Calcutta or any other University recognized
by CU and UGC. Foreign Candidates may also apply for admission to this course
and their admission will be considered subject to clearance of the equivalence
of entry qualification from University of Calcutta.

Admission Procedure :
A Common
Admission Test for PGDJTM for all categories of candidates will be conducted by
this Department. The admission test will comprise one paper of 100 marks with
four subgroups, viz.
(i) General
knowledge and English-25 marks (ii) Mathematical aptitude-25 marks (iii)
Physics- 25 marks and (iv) Chemistry-25 marks.
In this
academic session (2013-14), the admission test will be held on Saturday, 27th
July , 2013 at 11 AM, at the premises of Department of Jute and Fibre
Technology, Institute of Jute Technology , University of Calcutta (35,
Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata-700019) followed by the interview on the same
day.
All
candidates applied for the said course are to appear for the Common Admission
Test for PGDJTM.
5. Course
Fee: For both sponsored and non-sponsored candidates: Rs. 5,530/- for first semester
(including additional Students activities fee and Identity card fee for 1st
semester only) and Rs 5000/- for 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester each, all including
laboratory fee , library fee etc for each semester plus miscellaneous other
fees as applicable for all categories of candidates. However, Registration fee
for candidate of other university, Examination fee for each semester will be
extra as applicable and to be decided by the Calcutta University from time to
time.
Course Fee
for Foreign Students will be at par with as applicable for Foreign students of
B. Tech Students of this department (i.e. presently US $ 500 per semester
including all, except registration fee for 1st semester and examination fee for
each semester )
6.
Sponsorship: Jute Mill/Jute Organization /any other Social organization/NGOs
may sponsor candidates for the Post B.Sc. Four Semester PG Diploma in Jute
Technology and Management course with a letter for sponsoring. For the
sponsored candidates, original letter of sponsorship from the Unit Head of the
Sponsoring Organization/Unit/Mill (Director/ President/General Manager/Mill Manager/
Chief Executive/Executive Director/Head of the organization/NGOs with full name
and office seal) mentioning the details of the candidate and total experience,
if any, is to be produced to this office during submission of application form.
7. Important Dates :
Last date of submission of filled
in application form: 19th July, 2013 with application fee of Rs 500/- in cash (For SC/ST/PH candidates:
application fee is Rs.250/-);
Date for
Common Admission Test for PGDJTM: Saturday, 27th July, 2013, at 11 AM at DJFT,
IJT CU campus 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata-700 019.
Expected
date of Publication of list of the selected Candidates: 5th August, 2013
Dates of
Admission: 6th August to 8th August, 2013.
Commencement
of the Classes for 1st Semester: 12th August, 2013.

All
candidates have to submit the application for admission in prescribed form
available from the office of this Department or may be downloaded from website www.caluniv.ac.in or www.ijtindia.org
available from 19th May, 2013.

Requirements During Admission :
(a) B Sc.
Pass Certificate / Provisional certificate and/or Mark sheet (b) Madhyamik
Certificate as proof of age (c) Medical Certificate for medical fitness (d) Relevant
Certificate for SC/ST /OBC/PH candidate and (e)Transfer Certificate,/ no
objection certificate /proof of admission cancellation, if already admitted to
other College (f) If Sponsored, original letter of sponsorship in prescribed
format and No objection from present employer, if the candidate is presently
employed anywhere and (i) The course fee in full as applicable for the first
semester of this PGDJTM course, to be paid by a demand draft in favour of “
University of Calcutta ” payable at Kolkata.
