ONLINE APPLICATIONS FOR TGC-119 COURSE and AEC(MEN) July 2014 COURSE(CLICK HERE) WILL OPEN ON 15 Nov. 2013 AT 1000 Hrs.

Indian Army has invited applications for admission to the 119th Technical Graduate Course (TGC-119), July 2014, including Army Educational Corps Post Graduate Entry for Men.

Applicants must be male married/unmarried Engineering Graduates from recognized University including temporary Central/ State Govt. servants, serving personnel of the regular Army and Territorial Army (including officers of Territorial Army) and serving personnel of Navy and Air Force for grant of permanent commission in the Indian Army for 119th Technical Graduate Course July 2014.

There are a total of 100 vacancies of which 80 are for Engineering Graduates and 20 for Army Education Corps (Men). A. Engineering Graduates: 80 Posts are as distributed among the following disciplines. Civil- (15 posts); Mechanical (15); Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics (10); Automobile/ Workshop Technology (2); Aeronautical/Aviation/Aerospace/ Ballistics/ Avionics (2); Comp Sc & Engg/Computer Technology/Info Tech / M.Sc Comp Sc (6); Electronics & Telecom/ Telecommunication/ Electronics & Communication/ Satellite Communication (10); Electronics/Opto Electronics/ Fibre Optics/ Micro Electronics & Microwave (8); Electronics & Instrumentation/Instrumentation (3); Architecture/ Building Construction Technology (2); Food Tech/Bio Tech/ Bio Medical Engg (2); Chemical Engg (2); Metallurgy & Explosives/ Metallurgical Engg (1); Industrial/ Manufacturing Engg/ Industrial Engg & Mgt/Production (2).

B. For Army Education Corps (Men): 20 posts: MA/M.Sc in English/ Economics/ History/ Geography/ Political Science/ Psychology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Chinese/ Tibetan/ Burmese/ Pushto/ Dari/ Arabic

Nationality: Applicant should be a citizen of India. Exceptions to this are given in the notification. 
Age Limit:  For engineering stream, applicants should be between 20 to 27 years of age. Engineering Graduate born between 2nd July 1987 and 1st July 1994 are eligible. For AEC, applicant should be between 23 to 27 years of age. Applicant should have been born between 2nd July 1987 and 1st July 1991).

Educational Qualification: The minimum educational qualification for induction into TGC-119th course is BE/B.Tech degree in the engineering stream discipline specified against the vacancies. Qualified graduates of the Degree Course in Engineering and those studying in the Final Year of Engineering Degree are eligible to apply. The qualified graduates of the Degree Course must possess Engineering Degree at the time of joining training. Those studying in final year of engineering course must complete all the formalities including viva voce etc for award of qualifying BE/B.Tech degree before commencement of course, failing which their candidature is liable to be cancelled.

For Army Education Corps, applicant should hold MA/M.Sc Degree in 1st or 2nd division from a university recognized by AIU in English/ Economics/ History/ Geography/ Political Science/ Psycology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Compurter Science/ Chinese/Tibetan/Burmese/Pushto/Dari/Arabic. Final year appearing candidates are not eligible for Army Education Corps (AEC).

Applicants must satisfy the Physical Standards prescribed, the details of which are in the notification. Those withdrawn from IMA/OTA/Naval Academy/Air Force Academy on disciplinary grounds are not eligible to apply.

Method of Selection: Initial checking of applications will be done at Directorate General Recruiting; Army HQs. Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) will fix cutoff percentage of marks and shortlist applicants depending on aggregate percentage of marks scored. Short listed, eligible applicants will be called for and assessed under aegis of Selection Centres, namely Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP) and Bangalore (Karnataka) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of Army Headquarters and no requests of changes are entertained in this regard. Those appearing for SSB interview for the first time for a particular type of commission shall be entitled for AC III tier to and fro railway fare or bus fare including reservation cum sleeper charges within Indian limits. Candidates who apply again for the same type of commission will not be entitled to traveling allowance on any subsequent occasion.

Two stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test is held at Selection Centres. All the candidates will face stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres. The candidates who qualify in stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests. Those who fail to pass stage one will be returned on the same date.

A candidate recommended by the Service Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Candidates declared unfit by the Special Medical Board (SMB) will be intimated by the president of the Medical Board. The procedure for request for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) will also be intimated to the candidates. Unfit candidates should report for AMB within a maximum period of 42 days.

Merit List: A merit list is prepared for every Qualification subject separately purely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates at SSB’s interview. Those high in the merit list and who come within the stipulated vacancies, and are medically fit are issued joining instruction for pre-commissioning training.
The merit list of the recommended candidates will be displayed at the reception of DG RTG and its Website i.e. www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.  Candidates, who do not figure in the Merit List of TGC, may be offered SSC(T) if vacancies exist after allotment to all eligible SSC(T) candidates.

Training and Prospects: Selected candidates for Technical Graduates Course will be detailed for training at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun according to their position in the final order of merit, discipline wise up to the number of vacancies available at the time. Duration of training is one year. Engineering Graduates will be granted Short Service Commission (on probation) and will be entitled to full pay and allowances admissible to Lt during training period. Pay and allowances will be paid after successful completion of training.

Candidate will neither be allowed to marry during the period of training nor will he be allowed to live with parents/Guardians. Candidates must not marry until they complete the full training at the Indian Military Academy. A candidate, who marries subsequent to the date of his application though successful at the Service Selection Board interview or medical examination, will not be inducted for training. A candidate if he marries, while under training, shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government. Training at IMA is at Govt. expense.

Engineering Graduates will be granted permanent commission in the rank of Lt with one year antedate seniority from the date of granting commission. One year ante date seniority from date of commission will be applicable only for Officers having Engineering Degree (BE/B.Tech) from a recognized institution/university.
Non-engineering Post Graduates applying for AEC will be Granted Permanent Commission in the rank of Lt. However they are not entitled to any ante date seniority.

The final allocation of Arms/ Services will be made prior to passing out of Gentlemen Cadets from IMA.
Officers may be granted commission in any arms/services and will be liable for service in any part of the world on selected appointments as decided by Army Headquarters from time to time.

During the period of training the candidates will be given a stipend of Rs. 21,000/- p.m. (Rs. 15,600/- as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay Rs 5,400/-). On completion of training, Officers are commissioned as Lt and entitled to the pay scale given in the Notification. The final allotment of Arms/Service/Corps, at the time of passing out will be at the sole discretion of Integrated HQ, Min of Defence (Army) keeping in view the existing policy. No representation is tenable on this account.

Application: Applications can be registered only online for both TGC and AEC till 14th December, 2013 at through the link ‘On line application’ at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in .  Applicant should follow the instructions and terms and conditions given on the form. Applicant should Click on ‘Officers’ Menu button and move to ‘How to apply’ button and then click apply online for the particular entry on the home page. Fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields will be displayed as the applicant clicks on each field. Before clicking the submit button, applicant should check whether all details entered in the form are correct as applicant will not be able to make any corrections after saving the record. After submitting, the form and acknowledgement of successful submission generated roll number and the buttons of print and save the application will appear. Applicant may first save the online application and then take two print outs. There is no need to send any hard copy to DG Recruiting/Recruiting Directorate.

One copy of the print out of the application duly signed and affixed with a photograph of the applicant, attested by Gazzetted Officer along with originals of X Class Certificate, XII Class certificate along with Degree/Provisional Degree of B.E/B.Tech or mark sheets of eight semesters of B. E/B.Tech in case of TGC candidates, and along with MA/M.Sc degree/ provisional degree and mark sheets of MA/ M.Sc of all years/semesters in case of AEC candidates, all in original are to be carried to the selection Centre, by the candidates along with two attested photocopies of all these certificates. Original will be returned after verification by the selection centres.
The second copy of the application printout is to be retained by the applicant for reference. More details are given in the Notification.
