The
Institute
Indian School of Mines (ISM), established in 1926,
is a premier institution of international repute. After successfully offering
M.Tech. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management since 1977, ISM has
launched its AICTE approved MBA program under the Department of Management
Studies in 1997. The
Department has been constantly rated as one of the
leading business schools of the country by agencies of repute like AIMA-BS
Survey, Business India, and The Telegraph etc. Our placement record has been impressive
since the inception of the department.
Eligibility
A Bachelor’s degree after (10+2) in any discipline
from a recognized institution, with at least 50% marks in aggregate or
equivalent CGPA {45% in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST and DA
(Differently Abled Categories*)}. For Honours graduates the aggregate will
include marks of both Honours and Pass
Papers. Candidates appearing for the final
bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination can also apply.
Preference would be given to candidates having
first class in Engineering Degree or having Post Graduation qualification in
any discipline with first class.
* Also referred to as Persons with Disability (PD)
Admission
Process
To apply for admission to MBA program to ISM,
applicants should have a valid CAT 2013 score. Application form and Information
brochure can be downloaded from the institute’s website http://www.ismdhanbad.ac.in. The filled-in application form along with requisite
fee through Demand Draft and other relevant documents has to be submitted to
the Deputy Registrar (Exam & Academic), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad –
826004, Jharkhand. Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT 2013 scores will
be called for Group Discussion and Interview for final selection. The
sanctioned strength for the MBA Program is 62 and the reservation policy of
Government of India meant for higher educational institutions is strictly
adhered to. Candidates applying for reservation under OBC (Non Creamy layer)
category, should submit a valid OBC certificate issued by competent authority
issued after January 1, 2014 and as per the format attached.
Application
fee
Application fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rs.1000/- for SC/ST
and PD candidates) shall be paid through Demand Draft Bank drawn in favour of
Registrar, Indian School of Mines and payable at Dhanbad
Key Dates
Application Form & Information Brochure will be
available at ISM, Dhanbad’s website from January
14, 2014.
Last date for submission of filled-in application form
along with requisite fee and other relevant
documents is 5 PM of February 28, 2014. Late submission of application form due
to postal delays or any other reasons will not be considered by any means.
Date of GD & PI on April 24 & 25, 2014.
Declaration of results on website by May 12, 2014.
Date of Admission for Merit List Candidates on June 4,
2014 and for Wait List Candidates on June 6,
2014. All candidates seeking admission have to report to the office by 11 AM on
the respective dates.
Note:
The institute will not issue any letter to any candidate regarding attending
GD/PI as well as selection to the Program. The candidates must consult
institute’s website (www.ismdhanbad.ac.in)
