PG ADMISSION NOTICE 2014

Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), an Institute of National Importance, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, located at Chennai-Bangalore Highway, Beemanthangal, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu-602 105, has invited applications for admission to the various two years, Masters Programmes offered by the Institute, for 2014-15.

The Institute offers Master of Arts Programmes in (i) Youth Empowerment (ii) Career Counselling (iii) Gender Studies (iv) Local Governance (v) Life Skills Education and (vi) Development Practice. Applicant should hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 45 percent marks. Those awaiting the results of their final year qualifying examinations can also apply.

Selection will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and performance in the entrance test and interview to be conducted. Entrance Examination would be held on 4th May, 2014. Interview and admission would be held on 23rd and 24th May, 2014. Classes would commence on 1st July, 2014.

Seats are reserved as per the Government of India rules. SC/ST students with an annual family income of less than Rs.2.5 lakh per annum will get exemption in tuition fee.

Application fee is Rs.200/-. For SC/ST and differently abled students, the fee is Rs.100/-.

Application may be downloaded from http://www.rgniyd.gov.in/  and filled and submitted.

Application forms can also be obtained directly from the Institute on payment of the fee in cash.

For online application, the DD for the application fee has to be taken before filling the form as the details of the DD are to be given in the online application. DD has to be drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of The Director, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, payable at Sriperumbudur.

Application obtained through written requisition or downloaded, should be filled in and sent along with the Demand draft for Rs.200/- (for SC/ST and differently abled students-Rs.100/-) drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of The Director, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, payable at Sriperumbudur along with attested copies of (i) HSC/SSLC/Matric Mark Statement for proof of age (ii) Statement of Marks of UG (iii) Provisional Degree Certificate (iv) Community Certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC (v) Conduct Certificate (vi) Transfer Certificate and a self-addressed envelope with stamps  worth Rs.25/- affixed, to reach ‘The Director, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Beemanthangal, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu-602 105’ latest by 21st April, 2014.

The Original Documents to be submitted at the Time of Admission include (i) HSC/SSLC/Matric Mark Statement (ii) U. G Degree Certificate (in the absence of Original Degree, a provisional certificate issued by the University). Admission thus granted will be regularised only on submission of the Original Degree Certificate (iii) Transfer Certificate (TC) and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended (in case such Certificate is not issued from the Institution last attended, a certificate stating the fact duly signed by the competent authority of that institution should be submitted) (iv) Community certificate (v) Migration Certificate from the University/ Institution last attended.
