The Central Board of Secondary Education, HQ Delhi invites 'Online applications' from the students who have passed Class X & XII Examination 2014 for the award of under mentioned Scholarship Schemes: -
·         CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child for + 2 studies.
·         Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students.
·         Renewal of Online applications of CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child awarded in 2013.

The last date for submission of Online applications is 15th September, 2014 and hard copy have to be submitted on or before 30th September. 2014. Hard copies received after the last date shall not be entertained.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited applications for the award of CBSE merit scholarship to Single Girl Students.

The scheme is to provide scholarships to meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with prescribed marks/ grades and are continuing their further school education of Class XI and XII. All children born together are Single Girl Child of their parents.

The scheme is aimed to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students.

The scholarship will be awarded to all such ‘Single Girl Students’, who have secured 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks / grades in the CBSE Class X Examination in the concerned year.

Applicant should be an Indian National and a girl who should be the only child of their parents. She should have secured 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks / grades in CBSE Class X Examination in 2014 and should be studying Class XI & XII in School, affiliated with CBSE where the tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500/- p.m. during the academic year. In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in the school shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged. NRI applicants of the Board are also eligible for the award. The tuition fee for the NRIs has been decided at a maximum of Rs. 6,000/- per month. Applicant should continue her school studies in Class XI and XII in school. A Scholar under the scheme can enjoy other concession(s) given by the school in which she is studying/other organization(s), while availing scholarship.

The Scholarship awarded shall be renewed for a period of one year, on successful completion of class XI subject to promotion to the next class securing 50% or more marks in aggregate in the examination which determines her promotion to next class. The renewal/ continuation of the scholarship, in cases where a scholar gives up the chosen course of study before its completion or changes the school or course of study shall be subject to prior approval of the Board. Good conduct and regularity in attendance are required for continuance of scholarship. A Scholarship once cancelled shall not be renewed under any circumstances.

The rate of scholarship shall be Rs. 500/- per month. A Scholarship awarded under the scheme shall be paid for a maximum period of two years. Payment will be made through demand drafts/ECS.

Applications can be submitted online at
http://122.180.127.140/2014/sgcx2014/default.aspx  latest by 15th September 2014, after entering the Roll number and certificate number as printed on Class X certificate of the applicant.

After submission of application, applicant should take a printout of the application and sign in the print out. Unsigned applications will be rejected. Application must be certified along with signature/ stamp of the Principal of the present school where the student is studying. In case applications are not attested the same will be rejected.

Applicant has to submit an affidavit (in Hindi or English Language only) from the parent that the she is the only child of her parents on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- duly sworn in before First class Judicial Magistrate/SDM/Executive Magistrate. Photocopy of affidavit will not be accepted. The prescribed format is available on the Board’s website.

An attested copy of Mark sheet of Class X 2014 issued by CBSE has also to be attached to the printout.  A cancelled cheque of the bank account in which the amount is to be credited and a Photostat copy of bank pass book duly attested should also be submitted with the application. 

Duly filled up Application Form along with the documents specified, should be sent in an envelope super-scribing ‘Application For Merit Scholarship for SGC X 2014 (Form F-1)’ so as to reach ‘Assistant Secretary (Scholarship) CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi–110 092’, to reach latest by 30th September, 2014. Change of address if any after submission of application must be intimated immediately.
