The National Law School University, Delhi established in 2008 by Act 1 of 2008 is premier Law University established in the capital city of India. The Vision of the University is to make legal education an instrument of social, political and economic change. The University is committed to preparing lawyers who will not only be professionally competent, technically sound and socially relevant, to enter the bar and the bench but also be equipped with addressing the imperatives of the new world and uphold the rule of law. The endeavor of the University will be to impart knowledge in various aspects of law and to introduce the young generation of lawyers to a wide range of opportunities in legal profession. The University is creating state of the art infrastructure and facilities at its campus for learning and research at Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi.
FIVE-YEAR B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) PROGRAMME
ELIGIBILITY : Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or equivalent Examination with not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate (those who have appeared in the examination in March/April, 2009 can also apply)
AGE LIMIT : Below 21 years as on 1st July, 2009 (23 years in case of SC/ST candidates)
TOTAL SEATS : 80 (eighty) [70 (Seventy) seats on merit through All India Entrance Examination and 10 (ten) seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit]. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination.
RESERVATION : 15% for SC Candidates, 7.5% for ST Candidates, 3% for Persons with Disabilities.
SCHOLARSHIPS : The University provides liberal financial assistance for the needy and deserving students.
Admission will be strictly on merit through All India Entrance Examination to be conducted at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Patna on Sunday, the 3rd May, 2009 from 3.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. If sufficient number of applications are not received for a centre, the University reserves the right to cancel the said centre and shift the applicants of that centre to another nearest centre.
Interested candidates may apply for admission on the prescribed format of application available on the University website: http://nludelhi.ac.in along with a Demand Draft of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) for General Candidates and Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) in case of SC and ST Candidates, drawn in favour of "The Registrar, National Law School, Delhi", payable at Delhi along with copies of requisite Caste Certificate.
