Common Entrance Test (CET) June 2012
Indian Maritime University (IMU) announces admission to the following courses in IMU Campuses and affiliated institutions:
Category I. One year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) leading to B.Sc Nautical Science
Category II.
a. B.Sc Nautical Science (Three years) ,
b. B.Sc. Ship Building and Repair (Three years)
c. B.Tech(Marine Engineering)(Four year course)(only for affiliated Colleges)
Category lll. LLM (Maritime Law) (Two years)
Eligibility Criteria
For Category I & II: The candidate must be 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized Board or University. Candidates appeared for final examination and awaiting results can also apply. For details about eligibility criteria, pertaining to particular course, candidates are advised to refer the information brochure at www.imu.tn.nic.in.
For category III: The candidates must be LLB/BL from a recognized University. The eligibility criteria and other particulars of course, the candidates may refer to our above website. Information on website will be available from 17/4/12
Selection Procedure
Selection to the courses are based on the performance of candidates in IMU CET June2012, which is scheduled to be held at various centers throughout India on June 17, 2012 (Sunday) between 10 am to 1 pm for category 1 and between 2pm and 5pm for category II and III.
How to Apply
IMU-CET Application Form will be made available through the following channel:
• Downloading the application form, information brochure and challan (State Bank of India/Axis Bank/Indian Bank) through www.imu.tn.nic.in and paying the relevant fee through challan (State Bank of India/Axis Bank/Indian Bank) in any branch throughout India and get the Journal number from the bank.
Candidates applying for more than one category have to submit separate application. Filled in application, in all respects, must be sent to "Controller of Examinations i/c, Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road, Uthandi, Chennai - 600119" by superscribing the envelope "Application for IMU-CET June 2012 for DNS Leading to B.Sc. Nautical Science/B.Sc. Nautical Science (Three year course)/ B.Tech (Marine Engineering)/B.sc. Ship Building and Repair/LLM (Maritime Law)".
